reassure me

Two days ago I replaced my spark plug's affter they crapped out they had 75,000mi on them car ran great. Now today got missfire at 7grand and p0301.
Affter much reading I assume it is my coils with 75,000mi on them. Here is were I am confused some one said that if they are not trq to spec you will get a missfire. It took my tq wrench 4 turns affter hand tight to hit the right spec. This seemed like a lot to me. So here I am is it my old coils or did I over tighten my plugs?
Thanks for any help

Doubtful over-tight 'plugs are the issue. Torque wrench calibrated btw? [hopefully you used a light coat of anti-seize on the threads]

Although typically factory set, did you double check the spark gap?

I think you hold the record for coil longevity in this vehicle, so could just be failing coil coincidence.

Make sure your plug wires are FIRMLY connected to the plugs, themselves. This means you should feel the wires "click" into place on the plug ends.

I used a craftsman newton meters wrench and I would stop at a little over 12nm.
No I dident check gap based on the fact the box told me not to jack with it my bad.
Coil is what I think I feel that affter I put the new plugs in the old coils could not keep up so thanks for the help down with another hundred.

Stock coils are 25-35 $. I replaced at 30K. Wires are about 50.

I would heartily agree with this. It is VERY easy to THINK you have the plug wires on OK but you really need to push, push, push! them on until you hear the 'click!'. Occassionaly, you need to push what seems to be REALLY hard. If you don't do this right, your spark plug wire won't really be on the plug, voltage will have to jump the gap, and you'll get a misfire.

BTW there is no 'gap' to the plugs.

^ depends on the 'plugs 9K. Noted that the iridium ones with the encompassing circular base don't have the typical gap and there is no adjustment. I see no mention of what 'plugs the OP has.

-ditto- on the 'plug wire connectors being firmly affixed.

^ I would indeed. One thing I've learned in 4+ years here is to assume nothing!

no top end, rough idle, 12 mpg, car ran like crap, supposed to be changed every 30K miles and mine had 82K, my dashhawk was reading misfires although I had no CEL.

Thats why in a nutshell.
