Hood latch cable broken
My cable broke from the inside and there is no trace of where it went. I looked under the dash and I didnt find it. Does anybody know how to pop the hood ??? My oil light has been coming up for a while now and no one in el paso texas seems to know how to open it. Thanks

Are you sure that the cable is broken and its not just really stretched so that theres no more tension? because if that's the case, take off the plastic hood release under the dash, grab the cable with a pair of pliers and yank hard.
If the cable is actually broken (like snapped at some point in the middle) the you're stuck...There's no real easy way to do this. You could spend a few hours going at it with a long flathead screwdriver in between the top of the bumper and the hood, or you can just spend that time taking the front bumper off and getting at it like that, or get it hoisted up and reach from underneath (this third method will only work if the cable has snapped somewhere in the middle and not right at the latch).
And I'm sure this goes without saying buy...When you do get the hood unlatched, DO NOT CLOSE IT ALL THE WAY. Shove a small block of wood or something in the latch to keep you from closing it by accident. Good luck!

I zoom therefore I am.
get the front bumper off without opening the hood? that would be a neat trick. best bet would be to jack up the car, remove the undertray and try to get to the latch that way.
i would suggest trying dale's idea of making sure the cable is actually broken first, save a lot of time.
