Need some sdvise please
Hi,
So happy!
I just bought an '04 Velocity red 231ps RX8, the milage is arguebly high at 62,000 miles, however it has got a full Service history. The car drives like a dream, the best drivers car I ever been in, hence me buying it so impulsively.
I am new to this forum and would like to ask a few questions?
1. Is there any high milage issues, even with a full service history?
2. Do I need to warm the car up before going into high revs?
3. What is the best oil to use, I bought 5W30 semi?
4. General do's and donts?
Thank you very much
Ps: Just want to drive the car all the time!!!

Hey! Welcome along, good choice, good colour too. Even with FSH you should check when ignition coils, ignition leads and spark plugs were last changed. Failing coils can cause the CAT to fail so it might be worth changing all of those if not dont recently. You can get them from Mazdatrix and get garage to fit them rather than getting them from Mazda = ££££.
Always wait for oil to come up to temp before hitting above 5K revs. This takes longer than the coolant, which is up to about 80deg C in 5-7mins. The oil can take up to 20mins. This is the same of any engine but moreso in RX8 since it can rev so high.
I use 5W30 oil from Mazda, Dexelia. Change fairly regulary I do about every 6000 KMs. Some people run premix in fuel to increase lubrication. The idea is to reduce apex seal wear.
I have just had first service since getting new engine, here's hoping that advice helps me
