Cabin fuse box
This is going to sound like the dumbest question ever, but where can I find my cabin fuse box? I have never had a need to look for it before, so I never did. And no where on here says where to locate it. Yes, even after I searched.
My stereo acts like it is functioning, but no sound is coming out of the speakers, so I think it may be a blown fuse. The head unit acts like it is playing and everything still works, there just isn't any sound.

Right by your left calf if you were sitting in the drivers seat! It's on the side panel, has a little cover on it!
What..........you don't have an owners manual?

Yeah. I figured it might be an amp going bad or something along those lines. But I figured trying this once couldn't hurt. It might have just been a fluke. I guess we will have to see.

I can hope. My dad was driving it at the time. And he said he pushed the button to turn it off. Then a while later turned it back on and there was no sound. But we will see.

I'd also like to say the reason I was searching and came across this thread was that with my new car I have had several electrical issues and I doubt anyone who hasn't had the issues I've had would have any idea of just how integrated the current electrical system is in the entire operation of this car in particular.
For a couple of examples, I've been reading about the serious issues regarding Rx8's and their engines and I was really concerned just because I'm not in a position at the moment to deal with them if it should happen as I have no where to do any extensive work and tools are in transit internationally & past the extended warrantee.
When the car was repo'd they did their usual job to rip out a bunch of stuff and someone had an Amp installed but it had been removed and the hot wires unceremoniously left hanging. One went to the cig lighter it seems which is why I found this thread since the interior fuse panel covers are missing I had no idea what was what with the fuses in terms of their function?
But it turns out it was the cig fuse and that's amazing as the car was running like poo and the CEL was on and once I replaced that fuse it came to life and runs like a bat out a hell now and then another fuse got blown yesterday by my own stupidity while fixing something else unrelated that, according to the diagram above operated my interior lights only.
It turns out however that too made the car run like feces and when I turned the key to start it it acted just like the description I've read in that it would not turn over, nothing, nada, complete dead instruments etc. including no starter. I disconnected the mass air flow sensor and the ECU to try a reboot and then tired again but again nothing until I held the key all the way over out of frustration for about 5 seconds and suddenly the car came to life and started but it wasn't running right and wanted to stall and did several times, again, a symptom I've read about that requires a new engine so I was crapping myself ..
But it was running fine otherwise for the most part so it didn't ad up and I'm not the average start and go driver. I have quite a bit of mechanical experience & after thinking it through and driving the car home in limp home mode once I got home I tested the fuses and found the interior light fuse blown as I had dead shorted the door light socket by crumpling it in the door but without knowing which fuse it actually was until now which raises more questions ..
You see, my stereo was also non functional and after replacing the fuse the car again ran perfectly & it was irrefutable the timing of the problems and the resolution, so the electrical is incredibly integrated and not just exclusive to what is posted on the fuse panels as the only function it serves ..
Assumptions are like you know what?..................................... or is that opinions? I guess it can apply to both eh?

Except that his asking his question answered mine and I don't have an owners manual as I bought mine 3rd hand after it was repo'd from someone else, so it did serve some useful purpose in the end.. I've also been getting quite a bit of useful info regarding many of my issues, not being familiar with my first Rx8 and no manuals to speak of so I decided to join the forum.. I have learned quite a bit but also hope to offer some solutions and suggestions as well having raced for many years and intending to eventually retire this car into racing in the near future.

Also, you can download a manual for free at mazdausa.com
If you poke around enough you will find all kinds of links to some if not all of the shop manual(including the electrical) and a whole host of other goodies.
I won't address anything you've really written above other than to say, seems like you need to go over at least 90% of the wiring in that car.
Welcome aboard

For the sake of argument, you know this thread is over two years old right?

It's not that extreme, I have the electrical issues pretty much sorted out now I just need to stop making myself more work by smashing electrical sockets in the door while repairing other issues arrggh! ..

I have a 2009 rx8 and it has an outlet on the front panel and another one in the back part of the arm rest which is also next to the auxillery in. The front one works but the back one doesn't. Are both controlled by the same fuse?
