Rattling from rear left + loss of pickup/power
Hey everyone, had an issue on an 04 GT with 116k Kms (approx. 72k miles for our neighbors to the south!).
This has happened twice since I bought the car (approx. 2 months).
The situation: After proper warm up, I get close to 8k on the tach in second gear while on the on-ramp for the highway and I then shift into third, at this point I hear a rattle from what I want to say is the left rear wheel well (I could be wrong on this but it is from the left side of the car). And also it seems like my pickup drops to the point where it takes me forever to get to cruising speed on the highway. I feel like something is holding the car back.
Both times this happened, I took an exit and shut the car off for 10-15 mins, checked oil levels, checked for anything loose anywhere and everything seems good. Essentially during this time I guess the car cools down and once I start her up again and hit the highway everything is back to normal no loss of power no rattling.
History on the car: Runs great overall. Sparks replaced at 115K km and coils at 106k km. There is vibration at idle so motor mount may need to be replaced soon.
Sorry for the long read, but I'd really appreciate the help guys as it seems like dealerships here don't really know too much!
