NH Meet Cd is awesome!!
Thanks Speedracer for the CD!! It is incredible. Lots and lots of extra info...it's got probably every review by all the magazines. I loved the technical info and all the great pre-production photos. This must have taken forever to make. I am very impressed how it all came together. The ride and drive video is cool, too. Man I can't wait until the next one!! HAHA

Yes....very good CD indeed!!
New England RX8 Club CD
660 MB of viewing pleasure.
The highlight for me was Speed Racers videos. The Coastal Drive video was fantastic. It features his new AutoX video camera system. He has cameras mounted inside, ouside front and outside rear. Its the next best thing to being there. Great sound as well......god that Borla has growl!
There is several folders with pictures and video from my10ae, Speed Racer, Gyro, Spin9K and Tigger. Classics from the Borla Flame to the hug commercial
As always plenty of extras to browse through also. Screen savers, reviews and videos showing many popular aftermarket mods. The Watkins Glen Race video is a favorite with me. Theres alot of energy and a great song with it too.
Maybe I'm partial because a few of my photos made the cut too!
Thanks for your effort. Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to the next one.

I PM'ed Speed Racer and he sent me a copy of the CD, just like he said he would. So, as I said I would, here are my thoughts about the CD...
As others have been saying, the disc is really completely full of all kinds of RX-8 junk; photos (professional/promotional and from users here), amateur videos, tv commercials, all kinds of cool stuff. Most of us here have probably seen the majority of it, but it's all collected and sorted into folders for browsing, which is nice.
The main feature is Speed Racer's coastal drive video, and that's really what he wants me to talk about, i'm sure. The camera system he has is really nice; there are three mounts (right side, rear facing backwards, and one on the inside looking out) and they all produce great shots. The footage isn't shaky while moving and the three different angles give a good variety. The audio is pretty good too, each camera records the engine/exhaust sounds as well.
My only complaint, which I would call a big one, is the music on the video(s). The inherent problem with putting music onto something like this is that you're going to alienate a portion of your viewers (in this case, me). I just wanted to hear the cars, which I couldn't do all that well, and I wanted the music to stop, also something I couldn't do (save the mute button).
So it is a good video, however i would really like to see a version of the coast video (or whatever upcoming production there is) completely devoid of music (i can run itunes at the same time as quicktime if i feel the need, really) and maybe better quality on the video. I assume it was compressed a bit to cut down on the file size for inclusion on the CD.
All in all, Speed Racer has a very slick camera setup and expect good things in the future. Thanks for sharing with me also!

Thanks for the constructive feedback. I was thinking about adding the music to only the left channel. That way if you have a balance control on your speakers you can mute the background music. Let me know if you think that would work.
As for the video quality, you are right about the compression. The original is twice the size and the movement is much clearer but it is also 1.2 GB. I'm also looking for a different lens for the AutoXcam. The stock lens is so WIDE that it makes the action, in a group setting, look like it is ten miles away.
As for the rest of the stuff, it is just a random collection of everything (i.e. photos, videos, reviews) that has shown up on the forum. That is really aimed more towards new members who may have not seen it before. It is also acting like filler until I can create enough unique material from our local meets to fill up the CD. Anyways thanks for the feedback!
