Open House Mar. 20 at Performance Buyers Club, Chantilly, VA

There will be an open house this Saturday at this rotary/Miata specialty shop. I met the owner, Pete Zazanis, at the recent MSCW meeting, and he is a great guy.
This is what he said in a recent e-mail: "...we can start around 11:00 am and go 'til 3:00. We will have pizza and drinks and lots of good conversation."
I will be there with my 8. It is near the new Target and Costco off Rt. 50 just west of Rt. 28.
Here is their website for the address: http://www.performancebuyers.com

Here is the full announcement as posted on the Rotors & Roadsters email list:

The PBC Automotive Open House Event for the spring of 2004 takes place this coming Saturday, March 20th from Noon through 4pm at the new and improved PBC facility in Chantilly, Virginia. Mazda Club members who have signed up for the Mazda Driver's high speed driving seminar on March 27th-28th at VIR are encouraged to come to the event and have their vehicles inspected for the track event free of charge. Participants should bring their tech inspection forms with them to the Open House.

All Mazda enthusiasts are encouraged to drop in to see the new PBC Automotive facility, meet with the company's staff, and socialize with other MSCW members and Mazda enthusiasts. The shop is located within a minute of the intersection of Routes 50 and 28, just a few minutes south of Dulles Airport. Directions are available on the PBC Automotive website at www.performancebuyers.com.

Please be so kind as to RSVP your intentions to participate by either calling the PBC shop at 703.818.9840, or by dropping them an email at pete@performancebuyers.com by no later than 6pm on Friday the 19th.

The PBC shop will provide pizza and non-alcoholic refreshments for those who stop by, and will also sponsor an auto show for Mazda enthusiasts if the weather cooperates with us. The winners in the categories of "Coolest Rotary Mazda" and "Coolest Piston-Engine Mazda" will receive $50.00 gift certificates good towards the purchase of products and/or services at PBC Automotive. If the weather turns out to be unfavorable for a car show on Saturday, the car show segment of the event will be postponed until late spring or summer of this year, and drawings will be held for the PBC gift certificates instead. The MSCW website will make a show or no-show announcement by 9am on Saturday morning.

Take the time to drop by and check out one of the best and most-respected Mazda specialty shops in the MD, VA and DC area, and plan on socializing with many other Mazda enthusiasts and participating in the car show (weather permitting) at the first PBC Automotive Open House for 2004 this Saturday!

Everyone seemed to have a good time. I brought my RX-7 instead of the RX-8. The other two RX-8 owners left before the group picture

The lack of RX-8s was disappointing, but it was still interesting. It was basically a Miata meet.
