DIY: Reflective rotary accent
quick easy and inexpensive mod as an alternative to the rotary rear fog light
you're basically putting red reflective tape in it. it's more reflective than a plastic reflector
-total investment. about $8
-time: 20 minutes
tools needed
-reflective tape
-double sided tape
-florist foam (or any other type of rigid foam)
-bread knife
-scissors or exacto
step 1
get some reflective tape. i got this from harborfreight for $6

take 2 pieces of red, flip them around and tape them in back closely together like this
remove your rotary accent and trace the outline of the inner countour

take your florist foam and cut to shape using a bread knife
shove it down the hole to make final fit. the hole is beveled and the foam give you the leeway to micro adjust it into place, ending up with something like this
place the accent back using the double stick tape. make sure to remove the old stuff first

i'll take more pics tonight.
one question...how are you feeling the blue accent? i wanted to match my body color but not sure if I should repaint red, black or back to silver
you can use the white relfective strips to do stuff to the front too
