I plan on being there. Which day I guess will depend on what the schedule is. I'm almost tempted to go both days considering I'm less than ten minutes away from the UMB Bank Pavilion.

I'm two hours north but I am originally from the greater St. Louis area and have been that way a few hundred times.

I'm a little confused about exactly what this is as well. I have e-mailed my info to her and have not heard back about the details.....like what time to be there.....where we meet.....what this is all about / for...etc..

My understanding is that there is a local Mazda enthusiasts tent or something that our cars will be in for people to look at. Is that what the rest of you understand this to be?

I went to the event last year here in St. Louis and they did not have anything like this that I know of, so it must be something new that they are doing this year.

She emailed me this "OK lets do Sat ...please email me back with your full name, cell, email and description of car so I can register you and make sure you get your information to Sarah to get you your pass on Sat."

After I emailed her back with all my info she said I was set for Saturday. So I think all I need to do is show up at 6:30 and they'll have my name on the list and give me my pass then.

91vert, my understanding is also that the cars will be in a tent for people to look at. I also believe we will be given a card with $7 or $8 dollar value to purchase lunch, but this was not from her, it was from my salesperson I was chatting with during my free maintenance a week or two ago. From talking to him, there is a good 4-5 hours worth of fun thing to do. I'm planning on getting picked up around noon and returning later to retrieve my car.

Renaldo, let us know what she tells you.

Whats the deal w/ the racing part of this? Do we need to register in advance for it? I am going to be bringing some friends, do they need to register at mazda's website(www.mazdarevitup.com) in order to participate in the racing event?

If you are showing your car, you get to participate for free. Do not register, Sarah will give you a pass and then you can go register at the registration tent. They will give you times for your activities there. I did this yesterday, Saturday, in Chicago and will be there next Sunday in St. Louis. It was a great time, had a blast, met a couple of other club members too. I got a bit of sunburn and it was a bit long of a day.

However, here is a warning for everyone who is showing your car. Watch the spectators like a hawk. I got my shift **** boosted. About 3:00 PM my son went to make sure the parking brake was still set and he said it was missing. Sure enough, some ******* stole it. I took all my personal stuff out of the interior for this reason, but some SOB stole it right in front of me. Another bastard stuck his Rev-it-Up lapel pin in my sidewall of my rear tire. It didn't do anything but I cannot believe people now days.

Here is a suggestion. Lock your car, post a sign that if they want to view the inside, please see the owner. When or if you do let someone look inside, stay with them and watch what they are doing. 99.9% will be nice folk, interested in your car. 99.9% will not know it is a personal car owned by you for they will think MAZDA owns it because it is at their event. Some of those will be abusive, after all, a big company owns it and they can afford it.

With that said, take warning. Personally, I will be placing a sign and watching everyone as well as other Enthusiast's cars while they are out participating in the events of the day.

The enthusiast tent is for local club members (RX, Miata, Protege etc) to get to display cars (we have room for 3-6 depending on which city we are in) and chat about their car. This was the first time we had any trouble (this weekend outside of Chicago) where someone harmed an enthusiats car. Sarah is almost always in the tent but when she is talking to someone or taking a break for the loo then then wnaders have a chance to be jerks it appears.

Sarah flys or drives to each event on Friday night (in college all week) and does the meet and greet for the magazine MazdaSport Magazine who shares the tent with the enthusiast clubs.

There is absolutely no blame to be put on Sarah or Plays with Cars for this situation. They have done an excellent job organizing this for us and giving us the oportunity to show our 8s to those who are interested. Nothing could have been done by the organizers for the Mazda Enthusiast tent that they didn't do.

This was an act by some malicous idiot who just chose to be an ****. Sarah did an excellent job in the tent, she was pleasant and very understanding, helpful in every way. I cannot say anything negative about either her or Plays with Cars. My appologies if they were misconstrued.

It was still a good time and I am still looking forward to St. Louis this Sunday. The only thing different I am going to do is to be more cautious and not let everyone and their dog get in my car and push all the buttons and play with everything. As I said before, 99% of these spectators didn't even know they were looking at a privately owned RX-8, they were just dazzled by everything else there.

I do have a request into Mazda for a new shift **** for you (believe me they are sick that people are such jerks). Did you need a tire replaced as well? This is a little more leg work as you would want to replace 2 or all 4 at a time (never one). I can talk to Falken about this too. I know Sarah wass in tears when she called because it is her first time on the road helping the magazine.

Hmmmmm......that really sucks that some idiot(s) would do this to your car. Makes me seriously consider revoking my offer of displaying my cars in the tent. I haven't gotten any kind of confirmation on anything yet anyway, so as of right now maybe they had enough display cars and didn't need mine.

If anybody put as much as a scuff on my car...let alone stealing my shift **** or jabbing my tire, I can assure you that somebody would be walking out of that tent bleeding.

I swear.....people have no respect for other people's property these days!!

I agree but, they did this very stealthily. I don;t want to discourage you from showing your car. The people I did talk with were great and very appreciative. I just turned my back at the wrong times because I trusted everyone. Sean's 8 had absolutely nothing happen to his, he has a black one that has a few other options than mine and he walked away with his in tact. I am thinking that these people either were jealous or were just friggin idiots who would do this to their Grandma. Having grown up in the St. Louis area (Alton) I know that people are a bit different down there, or at least that is what I remembered. I am going to be cautious but I am still going, none the less. I also will keep an eye out for other people showing their cars there when they are out on their run. The only persons to blame here are the ******** that did this. I hope to see you there.

D MENAC,

Would you be interested in meeting before we go into the event sunday morning? I have never been to one before so it would be easier for me if I could follow you in or something. We could meet in Dave and Busters parking lot, its right next to UMB Bank Pavillion. This goes for anyone that will be showing their cars on Sunday.

Sure, sounds fine with me. I am leaving Springfield, IL at 4:30 AM so that should put me there at about 6:25 give or take a minute or two. I'll be in-bound from 55 to 270 on over to whatever route I take, haven't looked at a map for a couple of weeks...though I have it planned. Is there any construction other than at 155 that I need to worry about or avoid? I imagine 5:15 AM on a Sunday morning shouldn't be too much traffic except for the little old Baptist ladies trucking down the inside lane at 80...:D
