Philly area Top Speeds....

Why dont we all figure out where we can find this "open runway
where we can test some top speeds? I noticed so far we are all dying to get on it at 110+ but just usually can't find enough road or moreso enough stretch of I-95 for that matter, hehe. On another thread it was stated that some airports have runways not used that groups can use the strip for this purpose. Am I right? ----Any comments, cause I sure as hell wanna run it, if you know what I mean, and I am getting nervous sometimes especially on that 2.5 mile straightaway stretch of 76 East right when you pass the I-476 interchange leading into the city. Hmmm....a ticket clocked @ 110+ can get the license taken damn quick.

It would be a great idea Nova. I heard something about Atco speedway. Velocity 8 would know more about this. He goes most weeks and races his rx-8.

Oh yes, Atco is in a town called Atco, NJ. Its a dragstrip I believe, and anyone can run there, as long as you have or rent a helmit from them. I went 2 years ago and someone was even racing there dad's station wagon running like 18's, imagine that. So anyone can run, I think they just have times that you can run, like 6-9pm or something. We should look into this tri-state!

Atco is in a wooded area. The neighborhood is good.

It's fun to go run your car without worrying about cops or other drivers. The highest speed you can get on the track is about 102mph. I did see a Jet Car run there that did the 1/4 in 5 seconds with a trap speed of 301mph!

You can buy a jet car for about $60K.
