Brake Rant
So I just got my 8. I'm finding lots of problems that I'm getting really upset about. I went to do my brakes last night and had problems at every turn.
Front driver side: lug nuts refused to move. Put on by a gorilla last time. Finally got them off, stripping the wheel lock while I did it. Caliper bolts came out fine, caliper itself struggled to get off. Lots of what looks like silicone on the poss making the pads stick hard. Couldn't get the caliper back on with the new pads. Apparently the guide pins seized or something. Used c-clamp to squeeze in the pin for now.
Front passenger: Lug nuts came off. Struggled with caliper bolts. One guide pin stuck.
Rear passenger: different size lug nuts. Awesome. Got those off. Bottom caliper bolt came off fine. Top one was harder, then snapped. Have to replace that guide pin. So much sealant crap on that the pads were glued to the calipers. Had to pry the caliper off with the pads still on, making the metal tab thing the pads sit in all massed up. Piston too hard to get in with caliper tool and ratchet. Couldn't finish because of guide pin.
I'm getting so frustrated! No, not getting. Already there! Any advice? Should I just get all new guide pins and bolts?
Oh and this is all after some seriously angering spark plug issues!

Finally got it all taken apart. Front went together fine. Rears have to wait till tomorrow for the hardware to get in to advance auto in the morning. Needed new guide pins and bolts, boots and metal brackets. Almost ripped the piston boots while retracting the pistons. Caught it in time and lubed them. I don't know who "took care" of this car before me but they did a terrible job...
Such a pain in the *** but getting there!

I couldn't get the hardware for the front in a timely manner so I'm just replacing everything in the rear this time around. Next time it'll be the front. I'm just trying to prepare for Maryland inspection.

Finally done. ended up doing all the hardware for the front too. 3 of the 4 guide pins were seized hard on the front. took lots of torching and pulling to get them out. I feel safer with all new pads and hardware.
