May 23rd Rotary Meet at FDR Park in Philly--BIG
The 7 guys (Rotary Club of Philadelphia) are holding a meet in conjunction with the Tri State Rx8 Club on Sunday May 23rd at 2:30 PM at FDR park in South Philadelphia. For those unfamiliar with the park it is near the sports complex and is close to the major roads in the area (95, 76, Broad St.). There are already THIRTY commitments from people in the 7 community. This is a pretty central location, so hopefully many of us will be there. Links to the 7 discussion and directions will follow. Everyone please bring a few bucks as the organizer has commited to getting the food and for the amount of people coming he will have to spend a bit of money. Any questions please ask in the thread or PM. Mods, can you please sticky. Thanks all, and I can't wait to see 50 or more rotaries all together.

If rain is forcast we try to make the best call possible the day before, or we post here the morning of the meet with a rain date. We will get word out in case of rain whether it is a go or not. Lots of the 7 guys won't take the cars out at all in the rain due to the fun mix of high performance tires, light cars and lots of horsepower. Makes for bad situations.

Yeah, both cars will be there. My buddy Dan or Decay as he is known on Rx7club.com, who got me on the 7 board originally, will be driving one of my vehicles up and back.

Hey guys, i dont come on here much, but decided to stop by to see how many of you will be joining the 7's for the day. some of you already know some of the 7 guys, btu this will be a good oprotunity for all of us to meet eachother...
as statted already, I will be getting the food together for the event, and a definate head count will be needed to plan accordingly.
rain date was mentioned, and nothing is set as an alternative date just yet. lets just hope the weather is nice. (stop jinxing us!! LOL!! )
directions are very simple from all major HWYs, so you shouldnt have any problem finding the place. if you cant find the sports complex in Philly, you shouldnt be driving.
there is a group of people meeting at JPR Imports to caravan the rest of the way to the meet. most of these people are the local guys, and a small caravan from up north. JPR is on the way and would be a good meeting spot for some of you. if you need directions to the shop, just ask. i will have Jim reply to this thread and give his exact address. the shop is in blackwood on the black horse pike. the phone number is 856-227-1808.
i am sure i left out some details, so any other questions just ask here or on the rx7 board. here is the link to the main thread. http://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=289580

Hey its Ocelot from the rx7club. Looks like the unofficial official caravan from North Jersey and up is the one that I started with an FB and another FC owner. We now have a bunch of people from all over North Jersey coming, and we are going to be meeting with the primary South Jersey caravan at JPR Imports where we will make the last short trip to FDR Park. I'm hoping to get the North Jersey caravan pretty big because i'll have my friend riding along to get some footage with his $2000 camera. I want some good highway footage because later on after Rotorfest we are going to compile it all and make DVDs to give out to rotary guys. He does video editing professionally, so it should turn out really nice.
The original plan was for the north guys to take 95/295 down and come off at the Lawrenceville exit where i'm at and meet at my house. Now it seems like the caravan is getting pretty big, so i'm thinking we should find a parking lot. The high school has a 4 or 500 space parking lot that will be virtually empty on a Sunday, so that would work, and its right off of 206 on one side and Rt. 1 on the other side so shouldn't be hard to find, or we could go with something like the Quakerbridge mall. PM me or talk to me on AIM (mtmind22) if you have any suggestions as far as location or time to meet up.

I planned out the caravan route that seems to be the best one to take, assuming you 8 guys would meet at Irish_in_a_RX8's (if thats still fine with you Irish) house, along with whoever would make it a better trip to start in Yardley. If not at your house, Yardley still seems like a nice place to stop off along the way, so if you could provide information to that thread as far as an exact location that would be great, then we can finalize everything. Any 8 guys who want to make the Lawrenceville starting location is fine as well. Here's the thread with all the info reguarding the caravan:

You guys are going straight to FDR park? All the 7 guys were going to go down to JPR Imports and meet up with the South Jersey caravan then head to FDR park which is a short way away from there.

Senseny, are you driving direct to FDR or to JPR Imports? I was thinking of having a meet for folks in this area to make the drive.
FYI, Polak (Mark) will be selling RX7.com decals and RX-8 Club shirts that day for those interested.
Shawn - yeah, your just 10 mins away!
All the best

Hey - anyone from out southwest, or Delaware, I would be willing to meet up for the drive. Since it looks like (drum roll please) I'll have my 8 back this Friday or next Monday (hooray hooray hooray - can you tell I'm excited?) I am defintely planning on attending! I am out on Route 1 south of Philly - down by Longwoood Gardens. If anyone (either 7s or 8s ) want to meet up, give a holler!
