Automatic starter stuck bolt removal methods.
Hello : 2004 rx8 automatic series one. During the process of unbolting the starter one of the three bolts that are on the automatic starter wouldn't budge and I rounded it out. If this were a manual starter I wouldn't be here. The automatics are plagued with lack of room to work ( Ha Ha ) any way the bolt that vis rounded out is located in a spot where I can not use a socket and get a ratchet on it ( No room).
If any one who has worked on the automatic starter installs could pass along any methods I might try that have worked I would appreciate that very much. I am asking before acting on my only perceived method which is to take a cutting wheel and cut off the head of the bolt remove the starter and attempt to some how( That's why the question) to remove the stuck bolt shank. any suggestions and thank you !.
If I can remove the bolt I will make pic's of the reinstall because the automatic's are very different in how they bolt to the car vs a manual and this would be great information for the automatic owners here and they are here. Thank you !.
