The barrel actuator arms are easily broken... You can do it... but by the time you **** around and struggle to get it out.... you could have pulled the engine and done it a lot more safely...
Plus often if its carboned up its really difficult to get out... another thing that is much easier to do out of the car

yeah, I was trying not to be too rough about it.
it was OldDragger who did it
however, get the chassis up high enough and a lift table from Harbor Freight, you can drop the entire front subframe with engine down far enough to swap the manifold, then just lift it all back up into place.
there is (or was) a youboob video where some shadetree mechanic managed to do it in the chassis too.

ok so you can remove the lower intake with out removing the engine and with out dropping the entire sub fram as these take much longer!!!!
step 1 if you have access to a lift this helps if not get the car as high as you can on jack stands,
step 2 remove the lower cross bar which goes across the trans and engine.
step 3 remove both motor mounts and remove the driver side motor mount bracket.
step 4 using a jack or engine lift you can lower the engine and push towards the driver side long pry bar helps get it over that little bit that pushing wont.
step 5 remove and slide the lower intake out and bring it up through the top.
note remove all bolts before hand if you have the right tools you can do this before you remove the motor mounts,

if you can get it high enough then probably dropping the engine straight down below the subframe and without having to move it over, pull it straight off from underneath. I’m not sure if the rear diff can pivot that part with the PPF fully bolted up, but even then just unbolting or dropping off the transmission end of it might be enough.
