Great cover story in 5/03 issue of Sports Car International
They loved the RX-8. SCI has been my favorite car mag for a few years; they only cover sports cars, and they don't bs. This article is high praise indeed (sorry, no scanner).

when does this hit the shelves?
I looked at Borders last night - they only have the March issue of SCI - anyone know about when the May issue should arrive? Do I just have a store that's behind some of the rest of the country?

I just picked it up last night at a local grocery store. In comparison to other mags, this one definately seems superior.
BTW: this mag is only published 6 times a year, that's why may is out already

Could someone post the article and/or tell me how to subscribe? I did an internet search and I couldn't find the magazine's official website, but I might be able to subscribe over amazon. Thanks. Sounds like a good magazine!

IMHO, this is one of the best articles I have read on the RX8, simply because the writer lists the reasons why he feels the car is strong or weak; in other words, he backs up his statements with real world experience we can all relate to. Additionally, there is quite a bit of technical info regarding the suspension. In all, an excellent, balanced article... kind of like the car itself.

thanks for the article 73JPS.
Very good review of the RX-8 overall.
The only thing that concerns me is the rear visibility of the car, seems like most review said the rear visibility is very limited on the 8.

As someone posted in a previous thread on a similar topic, we'll just have to be sure to use our side-view mirrors.

Overall it's a great article. I can't think of the last time a single article made me want to subscribe to a magazine!
I'm slightly concerned by the autocross problems, since for me, "fun to drive" = "fun to autocross". I'm a somewhat tame driver on the street, and get all my performance driving at autocross events. It sounds like they were on a pretty tight course, so perhaps it would do better on a more wide open course. Or, maybe if I end up with an RX-8 I'll just have to have someone bring it while I take the Miata, and choose with one to drive depending on the course layout. :D Then again, I've long suspected that my Miata has spoiled me from ever autocrossing another car, short of an Elise.
I agree that the best thing about the article is that they lay out why they liked each aspect of the car. Statements were backed up with examples, which makes it much easier to imagine how you would interpret each attribute.
