why NO RX8's at ROTORFEST ????
there was about 12???? i think there might be more than 12 in the tristate area. that was a pretty sad showing for them since there were about 40-50 FD's and we know how reliable they are !!!!
you guys better show up next year!

Besides, it's only a "car" meet... why does vosko have to be rude about it. I mean, there are OTHER things in life than to meet up with other people that drive the same car. It's nice and all... but life does not revolve around just Rotary.

Vosko, I think Irish was just kidding about our club being underrepresented, and he was pretending to be avoiding the "phone call" asking why. Several of us planned on coming and backed out at the last moment, due to whatever. I will speak for Irish when I say that we wanted to have a bigger presence than we did. Like I said on the 7club, "I hope to make it next year". Maybe with both cars finally.

Vosko, yes, I think you took my 'irish' humor alittle personal. We care, we care alot, but there are indeed many other events out there that are just as good ( not knocking Rotorfest since we helped advertise the event on our site ). Perhaps RX-8 owners were not ready to show their RX-8s due to lack of modifications or plain and simple ' other responsibilities' came first . Next year I am confident more will be seen....give it time..

I was there, and I was surprised how few 8's did turn out. I think what Irish said about most of us not having any significant mods probably stopped some people from going, but it shouldn't. Really, the Acosta guys were the only ones with a seriously modded 8 but we all knew what they had beforehand anyway. Hopefully there will be another meet next year, apparently some brain surgeons did some stupid crap and Jay (organiser) is pretty upset.

Irish, go over to the NE section of the rx7club and see the multiple threads about rotorfest. The posts are just about as close to internet fistfighting as you can get. Someone messed up a bathroom, someone dialed 911 on a pay phone, and burnouts were done. Real immature shi* going on in the threads as well. It is definitely enough to make me think twice about organizing any event big enough to have to sign or pay for beforehand (which I was hoping we get big enough to do someday).

Irish and Affenage, I think we can learn from these unfortunate incidents (and flame wars that come about as close to fist fights as can be) and avoid them in the future. I think we still can work with our brethren in the earlier rotaries, we will just need to stay aware and alert in our meets that include both groups (at least until peace is declared amongst several different parties) and post expectations. Although fist fights may be entertaining, I don't want anyone bumping into my cars and denting them. J/K of course.
