i posted earlier this week about the possibility of buying my new 8 within the next 2 weeks, my question now is when is the new gen. coming out, and whether i should just wait?

i love the car and i dont even own it yet, im tempted to go back and test drive it again and again and put up with those pushy car salesmen. everytime i see the 8's catalog they gave me it makes me want to be driving it.

Probably mid-to-late September, just like most new models. Mazda has given zero indication that the 2005s will be released any earlier, and stealer inventories are thick with 2004s.

Then again, Mazda Japan has already removed yellow from their website...

im holding out.

mostly because i want white, but also cause my family and i have never had good luck with the 1st year of a new model.

I'd guess that a second generation RX-8 won't be out until around 2010 or 2011. I'd definitely recommend buying one of the first generation RX-8s, either the 2004 model year or the 2005 model year!

There's been several threads asking when the 2005s will be available. As mentioned, mid- to late-September is the best guess. However, from what we've been told, there are NO technical changes from the 2004, and just a colour change (no yellow available anymore, replaced by white). All the bugs have been eliminated by running changes, so any recent build 2004s will be identical to the 2005s.
