Unhappy Well, I went 7 months...

...without a front plate in NJ, and got pulled over for it today :-( The officer let me go, just advising that I properly mount the plate (instead of having on the dash behind the windshield). Given that I was pulled over in my town, I figure that they've "got my number", so I finally obliged and mounted the plate. I guess I'll get used to how it looks...

I too Live in NJ... on the shore, Wall Township.

I don't have an '8 yet, but when I do I really didn't want to put a plate on the front of it... sad. How much of a ticket is that, by the way?

I guess there is no getting around it.. but if I had a Viper, forget it, I'd never put a plate on the front of it!

Anyway, glad ya made it as long as you have..

Hey Aces - I know it (Wall twp) well - I grew up in Monmouth County, and used to go to races and demo derbies at Wall Stadium years ago. Any also spent many wednesday nights and Sunday afternoons at Raceway Park...

I don't know how much of a ticket it would've been - I got off with a verbal "fix it".

Yup yup.. that's where I'm at! I can hear Wall Stadium quite clearly most nights when there are races... I live right off Belmar Blvd a block from Shark River... just moved back home after my lease expired on my 'ol college apartment. Driving 70 miles each way to work in Blackwood, NJ.

I had a girlfriend from Hillsborough in college... I'll tell ya what, Hillsborough Road at night is a long, scary place to be.. I'm sure an Alien Abduction is gonna happen there!

Anyway, sorry about the front plate... we'll see what happens with me when I get my '8 in... sigh.. a long while.

:-)

...and how do you know it hasn't already???? Or, maybe they dropped someone off... There are many roads in this area that are "scarier" than Hillsborough Road....

Sorry - I think I overdosed on the Twilight Zone marathon on SciFi this weekend....

Its been about 7 months for me as well. I actually got a speeding ticket and didn't have my front plate mounted, but I guess he didn't notice that. I'm hoping I don't get pulled over cause the front plate really does mangle the look of the front of the car. And if you think about it, why the heck do you need a plate in the front any way. How many times is a cop going to need to read your plate from the front?

front plates are only for people that run from paying 50 cents at the tolls :D , lol , and sometimes some other stuff ....
In MA ... if you have a green plate , you don't need a front plate, so call up your friends and ask them if you can buy a green plate off them and , boom no more front plate

Also you goto RPI ? (Rochester polytech institute) , my friend goes there. Also , gotta meet up with you sometime , I wanna hear that B&B exhaust :p

I feel bad for you Alan. It really is such a stupid rule, 'front plates'. It would be cool if plates could be custom made, so at least they might look good!

Hey Wayne - happy belated birthday! Well, at least with the front plate on, I don't feel like I have to keep checking the rear-view mirror each time I pass a cop...
