My last fill-up averaged 19 MPG on all city driving using 89 octane. I drove 257 stoplight to stoplight miles, using 13.5 gallons. I'm elated because all I was getting before was 200 miles per the same gallons used. I find it strange that it came up suddenly like this. I took it to the dealer a month ago to get the update to the "M" flash. I also complained about lower than adverstised gas mileage. The service tech stated there was no such thing and that they couldn't do anything. I also noticed that my car was pinging using 87 octane which it never did before I last took it to the service dept. I wonder!

Hellblazer, You have a lot of patience! You must of drove it right at 70mph and at 3500RPMs the entire way. I just cant go on a long trip and not pass someone! I tried... but lone behold, a curvy road came along with no traffic and my right foot broke all my limits. Call me weak!

I have the "M" flash and use 87oct. I drove three tanks with cruz set at 65mph. All three tanks were 27.5mpg. It takes alot of discipline not to have fun on those tanks but if you wana see what she will do try it. I have the AT and use the a/c alot....

i get 15 mpg on all city with the M flash. I do have only 4000 miles. but when i drive highway, i notice my gas mileage is a lot better. half tank i usually do like 100. but when i drive highway, i can do like 120-150, which is a big difference to me.

Went on my 8's first road trip this weekend.. from Westlake Village to Fresno...
From getting on the freeway, to getting off... non stop trip done in 3 hours.. 91 octane.. no cruise.. AC on about 80% of the way... I got 260 miles off a full tank...
Right when I got off my exit in Fresno, the light came on.. almost instantly..

I have 15K on mine and the mileage has settled in at just over 20 MPG. This is a pretty constant 25 miles to work on mainly two lane hiway. Too much traffic to do much more than just cruise at 60 MPH. I usually do about fifteen miles a day around the city and then the 25 back home.
We're fixin to leave for a trip to South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana, from Florida, and I'll see what it does cruisin in no rush. Usually when on the raod, I need to get where I'm goin so I set the cruise at 80 to 90 or whatever I think I can get away with.
BTW, I got 144 the other day on a vacant two lane stretch of about six miles. Same road, at 6K miles, it did 139. I'm runnin Shell 89 octane. Shell is giving some of their profit to the families of soldiers killed in War on Terror, so I buy their gas. At $2.00 a gallon, who cares about 3 or 4 cents!! MIne also has not needed any oil added between 3750 changes. It's usually about 3/4 quart low at the change.

Mine was pretty much straight highway driving. Sadly the average speed was only 75. Need to buy a radar detector before trying to see what it can really do. I've been using 91 octane since I got the car on May 31, 2004. Only have about 2k on it.
