Exclamation What is Wrong....Continued

Well just as a recap, my car all of a sudden started having no low rpm power (couldnt get up the driveway without reving to 5000rpm and a running start,lol) and there was smoke that blew through the air conditioning vents. Once the car reached 5000rpm, it took off with a serious kick to the back (kinda fun). Anyways i took it in and they have had it for 2 weeks and been running tests up the wazoo and talking to the engineers and technicians from Mazda North America and even some guy from Japan. Anyways heres whats gone on:

* Dealer Scratches their heads*
1) Checked PCM (ECU)...nothing (no codes=no problem under the dealers eyes)
2) Checked Coils...no problem
3) Checked Compression (make sure it wasnt the apex seals).....no problem
4) Checked Cat.....no problem here either
* Dealer continued to scratched their heads*
5) Checked PCM again...they couldnt find a problem but eventually thought that this was the problem and since they serisouly had no clue what was wrong, thought that they would just start replacing stuff and hoped it would work
6) Replaced PCM and Recoded my car keys (cant do one without the other)..didnt do a damn thing
* Dealer is freakin' bald by now because they dont know what the hell is wrong*
7) Finnaly...and i mean bout damn time, they think they have figured it out
They were checkiing everything over again and ran more tests and found that the primary injectors have failed on the car.
8) Well they r overnighting the injectors so ill hopefully get my car back tomorrow but damn its been forever since they have had it and took them long enough to diagnose the problem. They were about to give me a whole new engine, but i guess mine is fixable.

Im gonna try and take some pictures of the injector (even though im not sure ur gonna be able to see anything) and hopefully give a follow up on how it runs. I also hope i get to keep the new PCM (hoping it is the latest software onthe thing).

I have a question though. How many Injectors are there on the Renesis? 2 primary 2 secondary? Also what kind of things could cause the injectors to fail?

Anyways ill hopefully get my car back tomorrow!....been waiting long enough without any answers so now i have some hope!

While they are in there, you might as well have them check your spark plug coil packs. Do a search on this because ALOT of people are having problems with them. Good luck!

you might as well have them check your spark plug coil pack
See Number 2 in my original post where i listed what they have done. That was the first thing i told them to check cuz i thought the same

Well i FINALLY got my car back today!

They ended up replaced the "Front and Rear Primary Injectors and Seals." I have also got a brand new PCM. Dude said it cost them like 2,100 bucks for them.

I have noticed a few things about the car:
---First, The engine is really Really smooth now. No power jumps at any rpm, just straight smooth acceleration..im talkin like butter. THe power does not increase or change at all through the rpm's, like it used to slightly.

---Second, Before, i had a slight pinging(soft rattle from engine) noise between 7-8k rpm's. Now that is completely gone.

---Third..and most important IMO, There is what seems to be less horsepower coming from the engine. Before the car would keep me in the seat a little, now it doesn't. My car used to be able to keep up with my sister's FX35, and coming home from the dealer she was pulling away under hard acceleration. The low end power is less too. When i start from a stop in first gear it seems like the engine bogs down easier and doesn't climb the rpm's as fast as it used to, nor accelerate as fast. Id say roughly 20 horsepower is missing from before, then again i can't really measure it, but our Mini Cooper S pins me in the seat more (drove it afterwards).

---Fourth, My transmission still feels wrong to me from when i first bought the car. Most of you don't remember but i had the 1st-2nd shift prob where it grinds and doesnt go in under hard acceleration and quick shifting. Well it still fells like there is something wrong in there but the dealer maintains nothing is wrong with it and won't drop the tranny and check unless they have to. (im basically waitiing for it to fry itself because they told me i have 50,000 miles before my warranty runs out and if there is a problem it will break before then, and then they will fix it) But meanwhile i have to live with what i would describe as a skepticaly working tranny.

So far my car has been in the dealer for like 22-23 days and somehow within in the next year i see that going above 30 (especialy once this tranny gives out on me) I have only 3000 miles on the car now and am thinking this car is gonna become an official lemon if it keeps this up. I still love the car, it handles great, looks awesome, but i need it to be reliable and this isn't cutting it. Everytime i take it in to the dealer and get it back its like something else is under the hood. I wish i had a g-tech cuz i think my horsepower has gone from good (before M flash) to ok (M flash), to wimpy (New PCM).

P.S. i know how the PCM learns as u drive it and since it is new it may improve, but i can't imagine it becoming anything like before. I think it has been remapped to be smoother (which it is) but less power because of it. Btw, this is a Brand Spankin New PCM, str8 from japan so it should be the latest map, but i haven't tried the brake test and will tomorrow to make sure it is atleast L if not M

On your power issue I'm betting the car is in breakin mode. The new PCM thinks you no miles and is protecting you. Its just a guess though.
