How many women RX-8 owners?
How many women on this forum are the main drivers of their RX-8, and is this your first sports car and how much automotive knowledge do you have?

It's technically "ours", but it's the replacement for my old junker car, so I like to say it's mine
I know a fair amount about it, I'm the one who hassled the dealer to get the new PCM flash and the recalls fixed. The husband is more into sports than the car most of the time

I traded in my Aztek for a red 8 on Valentine's Day. First female owner in Ruston, LA (second overall, some dude had a blue one but I think he just visited) and better driver than the other two I spotted. They're no fun. I don't know much about cars but I helped "rice" it up by adding neons underneath it. Boo if you like, I don't care.

Well technically I am not an Rx-8 owner yet. I will be gettting one in the next month because I can not see to many downsides to getting this car and its the only one I feel in love with when I test drove it.
My automobile knowledge is great. I have built many cars for drag racing etc. I have built a 1991 galant vr4 to have about 550-600 horsepower, I currently own a subaru wrx which is being sold today. I modified that to 300 horsepower. I do all my own modification except for welding and internal motor work. The Rx8 unforutnately I want to keep as stock as possible. Only things I will do in the future is exhaust and K&N filter.
I too wanted something with a little more options, a car a little bit grown up then what I was driving. The subaru I got pulled over in last month three times for going 5 over. I want something confortable and an eye catcher. I have not seen too many of these cars by me so its a little unique. Handles great and many small options that caught my eyes.

I'm another- technically it's in both our names(better interest rate that way since he makes more than I do), but I did all the negotiating, I fight with the dealer when it needs to be fixed, and I drive it every day. I knew a little about cars, but not anything like I do now that I've got my 8.

Add me to the list. Totally all mine, I insisted that only my name be on the title and the loan (though he is insured to drive it). As for my knowledge of cars, yeah I'd like to say I know more than the average lady ... my husband's a big car enthusiast so it rubbed off on me.

My red 8 and both my Miatas are mine alone, although I've been known to allow certain men who possess above-average driving skills to drive them. My first sports car was a 1979 RX-7. I've not had the down-and-dirty working on engines experience that some of the other ladies here have, but not for lack of interest...more like lack of tools, space, and know-how!
I have attended two performance driving schools at Willow Springs in my Miatas, and I spent this past weekend going to the Nethercutt Automotive Museum (Sat.) and the Pasadena Art Center's annual car show (Sun. -- pics on my website soon!).
My sisters think I'm slightly nuts. My boyfriend thinks I'm "too good to be true".

I'm the main driver of my 8, and it's my DD (I drive quite a bit, already have 6K on the odo with only 2.5 months of ownership.) I occasionally let my husband drive when we go somewhere together.
My previous car was a 93 miata, which i get very little seat time in now, because i'm always driving the 8!
I'm pretty car knowledgable, but not much in the hands- on-experience department. I read as much car-related stuff as I can get my hands on.

Add me to the list too! No one to share this beauty with..... I'm very knowledgeable with cars if I do say so myself. Previously I did my own oil changes, brakes and tune up. The Rotary is something that I'm learning everyday so it's been quite exciting.

Owner and operator here.
I definitely know more about the car than the male, but he has his strong points in other subjects that I don't have. :D
There is a noticeable difference in stranger's attitudes depending on who is driving (male or female).
