HELP: Question for RX-8 Owners
I just purchased a new RX-8 in the summer of 04' and have been lazy with reading up the details on the car. I just wanted some advice on which intake would be a good choice for my car ( AT ). And if i should get an exhaust tip or catback.

This company ( Racing Beat ) just released an intake that has been getting positive reviews by other members, you can read about it HERE. They also make a Cat Back exhaust that is good, both will cost you about $1,000 but do not yield significant HP increases. On the link below they show about 8-10 HP if you got both items. There are no other intakes or exhausts that can do much better on a MT RX-8, let alone an AT.

The Racing Beat intake was not designed for an AT RX-8. If you look at the website I believe the item lists as MT only.
Despite the crap its gotten on this forum, I think the K&N Typhoon intake is the best bang for your buck for an AT. You can grab one for pretty cheap these days. My friend (my10ae on this forum) has this intake and there is a very noticable difference in power and throttle response.
The Racing Beat exhaust is a good looking/sounding exhaust. The only gripe people made on this forum is the weight. I believe it is heavier than stock.

To quote Racing Beats site
"The REVi Intake Kit is now available for ALL models of the RX-8"
You might be correct about the Typhoon on Auto's since they do not reach 9,000 RPM's and that's where the biggest complaints about it come from.

So for an AT I should go with the typhoon even though the racing beat REVi Intake might be able to fit my car the typhoon will be more responsive for my car.....and also a catback exhaust won't be effected by the transmission of the car correct?

Transmissions has no effect on the exhaust you choose so don’t worry about. Also do not expect much from an intake so don’t get upset when other than noise your 8 feels the same. In fact I would see if you can buy a Typhoon used from another member here, many have taken them off for various reasons.

Make a "WTB" thread in this forum https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-parts-sale-wanted-44/
New they are around $225 LINK
Since they are not looked upon any more as the best intake on the market you should find someone selling their's for a good price.
