Removing the Numberplate holder
Hi Guys,
I have slimline plates on my car and unfortunetly in Victoria (Australia) it is a condition that cars must display two number plates (both front and back for those that haven't had their coffee yet today)
As you can see in the pixs, the plates are much smaller than that massive number plate holder mounted to the grill. I wanted advice on how to get that damn number plate mount off but still be able to attach the number plate at the front somehow - probably to the grill.
any suggestions / advice would be appreciated ..

Same two plate law applies here in Cali...but the front bracket was one of the first things I removed when I brought the car home. Probably not the kind of advice you were seeking.

@ crash: it should just be a mounting bracket that is screwed on. take off the the plates, and underneath you should see the screwes that hold the bracket in place.
@ senna: about 3 weeks ago, i got cited for not having my front plates. That was after 1yr. and 2mo. of driving around w/o them.

I'm going to risk it. The front of my Shinka is too beatiful to be marred by an ugly-*** license plate holder or plate (even though my special Iowa Hawkeye edition plates are pretty in their black and gold glory)/
But my father-in-law and two brothers-in-law have all driven for several years without front plates without incident or tickets.
So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Unfortunetly the police a religious around here when it comes to things like that so i have to keep the plate on but i think your advice is right - i'll simply cut the bottom of the holder off.
Thanks very much for your help guys.
