RX8 and a Truk....
Then go find a Military Recruiter to save you from yourself! Maybe you'd pick up esteem and wisdom; instead of giving two rats' asses about what your friends think about your car.

If you don't know much about your car, perhaps you should do some research instead of looking for others to tell you how to argue or what to think. I'm perplexed that you bought the car, but don't know much about it.

First of all, I assume you have an 8?
Second, what do you care what they say?
Third, take the high road and refuse to argue...... takes all the fun out of it for them.
Last, it's a good thing they put a big spoiler on the Evo, otherwise you can't tell if it's going forward or reverse. Just kidding......

evo wins in performance. straight line, around a track, etc.
rx-8 wins in interior quality, exterior looks (to most people tho the evo x looks great), and comfort.
...and of course the rx-8 handles better.
(i kid about the last one). if you're trying to think of a performance thing that the 8 beats the evo in, just give it up. the 8 isn't in the evo class for performance. but then again only the sti really is (for the price range).

just becareful though, if you're asian like I am, you'd be stereotyped bigtime driving around in an EVO.... "omg, he hops off the boat and buys an evo... how typically asian"
EVO's will romp the hell out of a stock 8, but it's not as refined.

I'm surprised nobody has given the link to thread just a few threads down about the exact same thing.

Don't be so shore about the Evo vs RX8 on a Road Course. On a tight course, stock for stock, an Rx will do just fine. The Evo pushes, stock, whereas the RX will induce oversteer. Also, remember the tires on an Evo stock are a ton better than the ones on an RX.

On a more open-road course, where the Evo could use it's power to rotate, yes, the RX would be in trouble, but on an autocross course, where most of your time is lost shifting, a 9RPM red line, and a balanced car, mean good times .

what kind of stupid question is that? tell your friends to can it, who gives a crap? people have different goals and objectives when buying a car and not everyone wants straight up performance for the money(which is not even that true considering when you get into project cars with 20k you can build many many different kinds of cars that will hand it to an EVO) and if you were looking just for #'s an evo or used z06 would have been the car for you.
