How to keep my head from hitting the roof...
I spent the past day or so looking online for some options to keepmy helmet-ed head from clipping th roof when i race, and found nothing. It only happens when I turn right (so i guess I could stick to NASCAR) which makes my overweighted melon of a head swing to the left and hit where the sunroof pokes down a bit. I was looking for a set of lowered seat rails and I found that Kansai Service and Nagisa Auto both make sets for Mazdas, but not the RX8... I believe they have sets for the NC Miata and back as well as the FD RX7 and earlier, but alas, no SE3P. Does anyone know if these may fit - I though POSSIBLY the new Miata set, since it's just a shortened RX8 chassis and may share some interior mounting points, but who knows. I also thought of just getting a set of Bride or Sparco seat rails, but I doubt the mounting poins will match on the RX8 factory seats... Any help would be grand!

He's as bad as Can
Having a 29" inseam and a moonroof causes me to have the same issue. But I solved it for under $300 https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discussion-3/install-lower-seat-improve-headroom-63097/

Man, you must be a long one!
Dont' know if it will help - but try putting on a 'gimme' cap on under the helmet with the brim to the back and strap helmet over it - it gives just a little extra cushion. Don't know if it will work with racing helmet but works with military helmets when bouncing around like a peanut in a humvee

no autocross, just HPDE at Watkins Glen, Pocono & Summit Point Hey if your a skinny dude I have an extra smaller Krikey I will be getting rid of soon. You would need to get the bracket but this seat would hold you in quite well. PM for more info.

OK, if you can't change the seat, and you don't have a moon roof-
And you know you are going to be a head banger, is there any way that you could pad the roof? Yes you are going to hit it, so make it more shock absorbing - maybe something like a sheep skin? Springs? foam padding?

Don't know how tall you really are but could you remove the front seat entriely and just drive it while sitting in the back seat?
