Bob and I have been trying to do maintenance and let the site run at the same time - we've been working pretty much non-stop for the last few days. It's worked, kinda ... it's caused some slowdowns but pretty much the site has been usable.
Well, what I'm doing now is simply too much. I turned off rx7club about 15 minutes ago, but should be able to leave this site up while doing my work.
It's going to be a late night!
Everybody just be patient, there'll be a payoff in the end.

We know exactly what causes the db errors, it's a simple ram available vs. ram used by the max db connections allowed setting. I think tweaking it to where only a couple people get it during the max traffic periods is just about perfect ... that way we're using every last drop of ram, nothing being wasted.

There is, but it's pricey because it has 4gb now ... 4 sticks using up all 4 slots. To upgrade to 8gb means replacing it all with 2gb stick. Of course I can do it myself cheaper, but if I want 24x7 hardware support and replacement, I have to go through my host, and they want $1600 to do it.

Ryan, PLEEEEASE let us do a PayPal donation thread. I'll run it, tally the totals, THANK every person who donates (on your behalf) and then I'll send you an Official Bank Check for the funds. (check my profile, I do stuff like this for a living)
I know you're against it, but I figure if I keep asking, maybe some day you'll cave in.
It'll be a LOT easier then a CLICK the GREEN LINKS day.
