Can we get a General Performance Forum in the Tech and Perfomance area? Then the "350z vs RX8" and "How fast can you go 0-60" type posts have somewhere to live other then in the RX-8 Competition(Racing) forum.

 

Your examples belong in the deleted section. That thread was deleted for unmentionable reasons. If I were a mod, which I really wouldn't have time for , I would hunt reposts and useless threads. Our current mods do an excellent job of that.

 

Comparisons between the RX-8 and the 350Z, RX-8 and the G35, RX-8 and the Hummer, RX-8 and a bicycle, (etc) all go in the "General Automotive" forum.

 

Then moderators need to do a better job of moving those threads. "What cars have you beaten in your 8", "4 cars..one race" and "5-60 MPH statistics DSC ON and OFF" are recent examples.

 

I agree. Just throwing everything in the General Automotive section is not the way to go. Just one more thing that I don't see as a bad thing by any means, as it would be beneficial for everyone.

However, it will never happen. I often wonder what the point of this Suggestion section is, as I have yet to see anything ever come out of it. I see many great ideas that either get immediately dismissed or just never addressed. It's a shame.

 

Hmm. Since most of the recently incorporated ideas, and pretty much ALL of the new forums came from ideas in this forum, I'm not sure what you're talking about. Almost every Suggestion in this forum has an answer from a mod or Admin, and explains why we are going to do it, why we aren't, or how to fix a problem that the question/suggestion is about. And we don't have the resources to incorporate all the technical suggestions(like fixing Vbulletin problems- that's them, NOT us). It's very easy to say "You should do this and this and this!" when you aren't the one that has to do it. Or are you talking about the "why don't we have a kills section!!??" suggestions? You seem to be complaining just to jump on the "me too!!!" bandwagon here.

Dark8, we try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. In spite of popular opinion, we don't like punishing people, and give them as many chances to dig themselves out of holes as we can. If you have a problem with a thread, then report it to the moderator (s) of that forum. And if that doesn't work, send a PM to a super mod or admin.

Honestly, we don't need a General Performance Forum, if that's what this is about. Racing with the RX-8 goes in Competition. Comparisons go in the General Automotive. And General Performance Comparisions can be found at Autoweek Forums and Car and Driver Forums.
