I got a Mazda Sport magazine in the mail yesterday and noticed that there is another RX-8 forum (www.rx8web.com) advertised in that mag, so I decided to check it out. Seems kinda dead on there compared to this forum, but one of the cool things that I noticed on that forum is if your move your mouse pointer over the thread, a little preview window with the original post to thread pops up so you can quickly review its content.

I know that there are people bitching on the RX-7 forum (myself included) about the stupid or vague subject lines that people use when posting a thread. This hover/preview feature would allow one to quickly review the first post in the thread without having to totally open it up, which on the RX-7 forum seems to take forever sometimes. If it looks like something that does not interest the reader (or warrant reading) via the preview, then you can opt to just not open it.

Thought it was a cool feature, but have no idea how complicated it would be to incorporate something like that into this forum.

 

Yea, I also noticed the hover over thing at that dead board. It's also a vbullitan board, so it's probably an upgraded version than what's on this site. I agree that it's a valuable improvement.

 

gah, please don't bring that place up right now...features, yes, location you saw them, no- don't want another thread like the one a few days ago.

 

I'm not doing any hacks until vB 3 is final ... that hover thing is a simple hack

 

I thought it was annoying rather than helpful.
