I know everyone hates it..
But how bout a section for kills?...And yes, I mean street racing.
The bottom line is, you may not condone it, you may not even like it, but it happens, and it is always going to happen, and yes..there are even people on this board who participate in such events..I agree, street racing from a light in 3 oclock traffic if a big no no, but many of us, are on private roads, or completely dead roads at late hours of the night..which basically ensures that the only things that can be harmed are the drivers and their cars, just like a normal track... so how bout it, if not giving us a section to post our kills....how bout at least not deleting our threads when we do post about our kills, cause you cant say, that even you wouldnt be curious as to whether or not our cars can run up against other vehicles, such as the WRX, s2000, in realtime situations, not track days.
Thanks for the time.

Here are some reasons, not in any order:
1) We want this board to have a certain level of standards. Not only because that's the board we want to run, but also to attract more advertisers and more support. So, we don't want to even appear to condone street racing.
2) Kill stories and the like are mostly BS or over-exagerated to begin with. BS and over-exagerated posts offer no benefit to the board, and won't give anyone an accurate idea of how our cars stack up to those that you mentioned.
3rd, and most important) In other forums where it has been allowed, they have been the source of many flame wars. And even if a separate section is made for these posts, the hate and discontent always bled over to the other sections. Most people are turned off by needless bickering and trash-talking, and end up leaving forums if that's what they see, even if it's only a few threads at one time.
The negatives still greatly outweigh the positives, so we won't be allowing it at this time.

I'd have to agree with the mods on this one. Being an Rx7 owner and member on the rx7 club boards, you have to read alot of BS. Most of the stories start flame wars with mustang owners and the like. It would be great if people didn't make up stories or slam on other cars, but it's the internet and it is hard to police the BS. Solution? You could start your own forum. Let the owners and mods do what they see as the right thing.

I am guessing you have never been to the track.

Anti-'kills' : I agree. It would inevitably lead to the heated, often highly personal and unproductive flame wars that raged on my former Bd. of Ed's bulletin board between Macintosh and PC-heads (students and staff) until it was outlawed..
