because street racing is illegal and stupid.

And im not saying that because my beloved stock Rx8 would get pwned at a stop light by a blue haired, afro barely popping over the steering wheel, white knuckled arthritis inflicted little old lady in a beat up old yellow 1987 oldsmobile cutlass supreme.

I know that bitch had a V8...

Reason is, our 8's are too fast and we never lose.. So it gets boring..

also, because the Mazdaspeed RX-8 is SOOOOOO fast that it could never lose in a race. It's also too fast to be photographed or filmed so we would never actually have a 'confirmed' kill.

Also, it's not nice to kick the poor little Crossfire owners in the nuts every day. It's bad enough they drive a Crossfire, could you imagine a whole Forum about how slow their car is?! (oh wait, umm... I think they have one of those already)

What you condone street racing and being on a cell phone?

Everyone is on a cell phone nowadays.

Wait until your brother dies like mine did from an idiot like that.

Razz1, im sorry to hear about your brother.
About the kill thread, a kill doesnt have to be on the street. It could also be on the drap strip. Im sure all of us are guilty of racing on the street at one time or another. Until a few years ago when i lost my friend, i raced regularly. I still think it would be nice to have a kill thread, just as long as it is on a track.

rather sure you can post a car you beat in a race as long as it's not a street race... I could be wrong, but the only threads I've seen closed were street racing threads, never any drag strip stories or track stories.

edit: question to any mods who happen to stop by and read this... are videos found on the net ok even if street racing? wondered before for a decent comparison between cars, even if it's street racing...

The lack of a kill thread section is a sign of maturity in an automotive bulletin board.

There is nothing wrong with racing on a track and hence nothing wrong with talking about it here. We don't try to support street racing or the Rice and the Ridiculous crowd and consider our lack of street racing as a sign of maturity among owners. There is a very simple reason the 7 forum allows them and we don't. They are older. However the average age of their members is younger. This forum was created later and there were several things that could be fixed or improved over the 7 forum. The lack of street racing threads was one of them. We also don't allow political or religious threads but that's not due to maturity as much as it is the fact that these topics are very strongly anchored in many people. When you get into topics like these with people arguing about them that feel so strongly about their position, it gets ugly quick. They don't take long to get off topic and get personal, not to mention spill into other areas of the forum. These are some of the decisions that have been made to keep the forum more civilized. It's worked very well too.

Street racing bad. Track racing good! Post away if you were at a track. Don't post a street racing story and try to disguise it as a legit track race. It's not hard to figure those out and will be promptly deleted with warnings (or potentially worse) handed out.

OK! OK! i'm sorry i have to do this.....and sorry i have to use you StealthTL for this....but i own an 87 gxl (RX-7...heh) but this statement is exactly why a lot of people think of 8 owners a stuck up, snot nosed, overly pretentious, a** h***! not just 7 owners think this way either, others have expressed their concern to me. i have a little brother that all he wanted to do was look at an RX-8 in a parking lot, the owner stepped out of the store he was in and promptly yelled at him for even being near HIS car. im not saying that is the basis for this general opinion but you have to agree there is an air of snottiness about this statement! the last time i heard anyone talk like that, and he was well justified in doing so, was when i walked up to a ferrari in a parking lot and wanted to check out the car, a ferrari 360 challenge stradale, the owner told me if i did not get away from his car he would call the police....kinda s*ity deal. all i was trying to do was look at the car.
now on the subject of street racing...i know it is wrong and we all, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8 owners should refrain from doing so. keep it on the track! seems to be the motto now. i would love to go to a track to see what my car can do but for some, seems like most 7 owners...hehehehe, we cant afford to do so. while i am guilty of speeding, and numerous other traffic offenses, i beg the question: why do we continue to buy these cars? well simply put we want to go fast. if there is a single person here that can say they have never strayed over the speed limit i'd like to meet them! we all have it in us to speed. some choose to do so on the track and some....on the way TO the track!
i just think if owners of fine automobiles, like the RX-8, were less interested in their status at the local golf club, we could coexist in a happy world of speeders and non speeders alike. now i am not saying that all rx8 owners are snots, just some seem to be a little elitist about the rx8. i know quit a few rx8 owners that are really cool. sorry if i have offended anyone here i was just putting my oppinion out there!

now anyone interested in talking to me in person about this can visit me this weekend at:

https://www.rx8club.com/ne-rx-8-forum-29/corning-nyra-meet-126159/

yes i did all this just to get more views of my thread......hehehehehehe

i fully expect to get banned for this one......

hey chris like i said not all just some. and from what i hear you are one of the coolist dudes out there anyway!! i have, and so have many others, met 8 owners and they act like their sh*t dont stink. hell some dont even understand what they have under their hood......whaaa rotors??que?? nope not mine its a four cylinder!...actual quote from a guy mid 30's driving a black GT with the mazdaspeed body kit on it. i have also had some tell me MY 7 DOSENT HAVE A ROTARY ENGINE IN IT!! man i have run across some really stupid 8 owners( and 7 owners too though not as many) i guess it all stems from a lack of fundage so i can buy an 8 myself. i hope to get on the band wagon with in the next year or so, so i can see what all the fuss is about!!

What does lack of knowledge of the rotary have to do with claiming you "killed" an SRT4?

People who post kills invariably get contradicted by others and the resulting ****-fest is utterly predictable and futile - why bother?

Also, what does keeping the peace on a forum have to do with being kool/uncool, general snottyness, or the smell of one's ****? Since I was used as the shining example, I kind of resent that......

i fully expect to get banned for this one......

Nobody has ever been banned here for an honest discussion of fact or opinion, you must be thinking of a much less mature forum.
