Member Requirements to Sell on RX8Club.com

Based on a recent thread that we're sure mods will see...we nonetheless thought it might be good to start an official suggestion thread on the topic to see if it garners any support or conversation.

To prevent scammers and horrible f/s threads in general, we should have strict member requirements before you can start any f/s thread. This would take extra vigilence by our mods (b/c they would have to watch threads closely and close them manually as far as i know), but it would go along way to prevent scams and sh-tty sellers from messing up what is an otherwise great community.

Possible requirements?

Minimum number of posts required to sell anything (50? 100?)
Minimum amount of logged time on rx8club.com
Require pictures in post #1

Anything else?

PS - thanks Ajax

At least - 100 posts (more than that is unfair) I know some LEGIT guys on here who been here since 2004 and have like only 200 posts.

At least wait 1 month after join date to be able to create a F/S thread.

+1 on pic with Screen Name on Paper with Date in First Post..

Price Location and willing to ship (yes or no) must be stated.

Minimum amout of logged time on the 8 club has to be greater than 24hours. I hope there is a time-out fix so they cant just leave their computer on for 24hours.

There is already now. You can't stay logged in if you're inactive idling. It makes you log-in again when you get active after so many minutes of not doing anything. Ispy doesn't help.

+ Only Verified Paypal Members should be able to create a F/S thread. That way Paypal can follow up on them much easier if they chose to become Scammers. Paypal usually requires you to Confirm Your Bank Account by inserting your Online Banking Information and your Social Security Number.

^That and the fact many paypal accounts can be scammers themselves, that doesn't help

Local Drop offs? Post an Idea, dont come up with the question REV

Vlaze: But it would make it less likely for that person to be a scammer, and a scammer would be less likely to go through all that trouble to scam someone. thats my opinion.

that does blow. hey zum, at least we weren't too late to the game! i was expecting that thread to be from like 2006, ha ha.

but still, i think a few easy to monitor requirements would go a long way... but whatever.

you should have a minimum of 10 posts to be able to start ANY thread to prevent scenarios like this..

"hey i just got my rx-8 and i'm gonna make 3462 threads.. what oil do i use.. how do you take off the badges.. what rims look good on rx-8s.. someone photoshop this shitty-looking kit onto my car with a retarded paint scheme.. my car seems really slow, is something wrong with it.. check out this video of me racing my buddy's cobalt.. wanna buy an xbox or some crack.. etc"

"Anybody else have trouble with water in the tail light? Can't figure out where this is getting in other that the seal. Only way to fix it would be to replace for $340.00 with the possiblility of it happening again. Have you heard of this being a problem with the RX8's?"

I like all of the ideas except the paypal one.
Very good ideas.
The rx7 site has a couple good fundamentals that lead in that direction.
