Post Count For Selling Parts

We need to do something with the unscrupulous characters whose first post is 'Parting out my 8'. We need to protect against scummy thieves and wrecking yards (Car dealers) that don't want to pay to become a vendor. Perhaps 20 posts before you can start a thread in the Parts for sale section.

This measure would be healthy for all but the dishonest.

Seal.

I've allways felt that if you are gullible enough to get scammed, then it's your own fault.

Someone with 0 posts count wouldnt get business from me period.

it's a fine line you walk. I'm pretty sure that's why there's a sticky thread warning you of the risks you take with buying items from people.

Lesper makes a good point though: What if I wanted to offer my wheels to other forums? Sure, I coudl sell them here but other mazda guys who buy RX-8 wheels would never see my F/S thread because I dont have any posts over there. (or vice versa, we could miss out on things)

I just say use common sense, the rest will work itself out.

Agreed, I sold my sways on the Miata.net site and had only my one post there.
It's always buyer beware.
In my case I did let the people on there know that I had sold mutiple items off my car on this site and did produce a link to the thread where they could go check and see how the communication was between myself and others interested in my items. I guess this may have given them some idea that I was legit.

It has for awhile now.
Think it's been a couple of months now since I did that.
Think I need to do just a little bit more work on it though. Maybe this weekend if it's raining out!

Individuals selling parts to each other is one thing (Some are fantastic and legit and some are not), BUYER BEWARE!

What gets me, obviously, is businesses posing as individuals who don't want to pay to play. You don't want to know what it costs to be a vendor here.

is there any special thing we can do with registration????

on alot of other forums i been too you have limited access to certain sections (usually the lounge since guys post alot of **** in it lol)....but once you PM a mod you can ask for access and it shall be granted....

its a lil extra work for the seller, and if they really are interested in doing business, they will take that extra step to be able to sell.

Swoope,

Not many people may realize it, but you're one of the better people on this forum.

Obviously, you are a vendor. Have you checked your own SIG?
