The point is there are too many "free lunch" people these days that just want you to spoon feed them with info. some of them would rather wait for 2-3 days then they will "find" their dead thread just to ask "Anyone know?", they could've find the info that they need if they're willing to spend just 5-15 minutes of their time to browse around and/or search.

but nope, they just dont want to do it.

When I(or whoever) tell them to search, we were trying to save them some time. Dont u get the idea ?
I get the idea. I agree with telling people to search. I agree with one person telling them to search. When 10 people all are rude in their own way it is just a lump of unnecessary rudeness. I agree with being polite in the first reply, not when the answer is "we will not do your homework for you, search".

Perhaps we can get a button to press next to quick reply for "Polite way to tell the person to search". Then we can simply press that button if it is someone who should search and a polite message is auto-generated. Also, if the button has already been pressed in the thread, it cannot be pressed again. This way if we use the button, the noob will be politely told to search, and he wont be spammed. Provided people still doesn't get creative.

nycgps, You know I understand what you mean with telling a user to search. I'm just objecting to the way people are telling other people to search, and that there has to be so many.

Problem solved.
I still say my way is the simplest and most elegant solution. It would force people to search before they can post a new thread. And those to lazy to search would never get to post!

Brilliant!

Or the RX8club folks could create a new thread post bitch slap bot that does this...

Okay, you do have a very valid point there.

My faith in humanity sank a little more right now.

People jsut need to search. no "im to lazy" or "not enough time"...just stop waiting to be spoon fed and look!

also, can we have people who go around and delete all the "Im new...spoon feed me" threads that have been made but not used in a long time? This would make it easier to search and less crap to sift through.

Reminds me of Kyle Gas in Pick of Destiny where he played three guitars at once with 6 hands. Awesome!

A thread that might be an example.

I'm reading a thread this morning that may serve as example to both the "Search, Noob" folks; and the ones who are offended.

The example is This Thread that was started by a guy wanting his problem fixed, but contains NO Information to help fix the problem... There isn't even enough information to say: "Search Noob".

My point is that it is easy to frustrate those of us who are genuinely interested in reading about the problems that others are having and how those problems are solved.

I've said before that new threads from first-timers should be reviewed prior to getting on the boards.

Thoughts?
