While it is not a primary consideration, the board does not want to condone illegal street racing or the like. Both for liability, and credibility reasons.
But the main reason is because most kill stories serve nothing more than to brag, and most are overblown, full of BS, and worthless. The resultant trash-talking, hate, and personal grudges inevitably spill over into the other parts of the forum. None of us have seen a forum with a Kills section where that isn't the case. The negatives being much greater than the positives, we decided not to allow them at this time.

Here are some reasons, not in any order:
1) We want this board to have a certain level of standards. Not only because that's the board we want to run, but also to attract more advertisers and more support. So, we don't want to even appear to condone street racing.
2) Kill stories and the like are mostly BS or over-exagerated to begin with. BS and over-exagerated posts offer no benefit to the board, and won't give anyone an accurate idea of how our cars stack up to those that you mentioned.
3rd, and most important) In other forums where it has been allowed, they have been the source of many flame wars. And even if a separate section is made for these posts, the hate and discontent always bled over to the other sections. Most people are turned off by needless bickering and trash-talking, and end up leaving forums if that's what they see, even if it's only a few threads at one time.
The negatives still greatly outweigh the positives, so we won't be allowing it at this time.

Is it also because we have 2 extra doors and 2 extra seats compared to the RX7?
I don't get the consistency here if the RX7club and RX8club are from the same makers. If a new RX7 comes out I'm sure they can jump on the kills section in the RX7club. Does the two extra doors make us a more mature crowd? Seems like the majority of the RX7 people are older than us but they are less mature?!?
Post it in the lounge or something and even if it is bs, believe what you want people and if people don't like reading a "kills section" don't read it?
edit: I don't support street racing but it makes for interesting reading even if it is bs.

None of these reasons explain why rx7 has it and rx8 doesn't. I think the majority of rx7 people are actually younger than "us" or definitely younger than me and proportionately less mature, the 7 is such a tuner car and attracts that following, in part. I visit over there regularly and just by looking at the av's and the language used, it is a less civilized environment on the one hand, but actually more clubby and cliqueish on the other.
So it must be the 4 seat thing, yeah that's it!

The kills allowed over on RX7Club.com makes for a "lesson learned" for the owners and moderators of this site.
Besides the fact that street racing is dangerous and illegal, and gets people killed, years of experience with RX7Club has shown that inevitibly, kill threads wind up turning into flame wars. People get pissed and banned. Mods have to put in a lot of extra work to defuse or eliminate the flame wars, and that causes even more bad feelings.
It was decided for these reasons that kills would not be allowed when we started this site. If you need to discuss your conquests, take it to PMs or another site. Thanks.
