RX8 Air Bag Warning Light Codes
I just spent an hour trying to find out what the flashing airbag warning light code meant. Well I found a manual with all the codes. Here's the link to the workshop manual and repeated below are the airbag codes for anyone else.
http://user-manual.org/Automotive/Ma...ce-Manual.html
The first two digit code eg 18 is the given by the flashing sequence of the airbag light.
eg 18 is 1 flash, pause, 8 flashes.
Hope it helps someone else.

I'm having a hard time understanding these codes. In my case, its 2 flashes, a pause, then 3 flashes, followed by another pause. It repeats this for the first minute or so upon turning on the car, then it just stays on. Any help?

Did you ever get this sorted, as my RX8 has the same problem and light sequence?
Thanks.

check the connectors under each seat. if they are good then you need to get to the dealer.
oh and if its really blinking 23 instead of 22 or 24 then you are completely screwed as there isnt any 23xx codes!

Some 2004-2005 RX-8 vehicles may experience an illuminated air bag warning light with one or both of the following DTCs stored in memory.
•B1994 - Driver's-side side air bag module circuit resistance high
•B1998 - Passenger's-side side air bag module circuit resistance high
This may indicate a poor contact between the terminals and the harness in the side air bag module connector. A revised overlay harness has been developed to repair this issue. This overlay harness will be installed over the existing main harness. Overlay harness installation requires cutting off existing air bag harness connectors and plugging in connectors from overlay harness and routing harness accordingly
check for dtc,s and let me know..i will tell you what to do.

I have that same issue. It's on both seats too, on mine are bad connectors depends how they sit each day, otherwise I have to fidle them around and it goes away. As for the codes the one code is for driver the other for passenger depending on what the code is. The first flash is the first digit then pause and the second digit. In simple terms something like blink blink pause blink blink blink (2 and 3) or 23 as I recall.

I installed the goodbox and headed off to LA. About an hour into the drive I got the 2 flash - 2 flash then solid airbag light. Figured it had to be a connector in the center console or glove box. Turned out to be the connector under the drivers seat. Gotta love this car

This thread is useful, I have replaced my airbag module b4, + harness, but it just keep coming back. One thing to notice is, it's fine on Cold day, but it'll come straight on if it's under hot sun (like immediately).
