I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but I think your comment is grossly incorrect. Yes the rain was horrible when we started the drive at 10, however most of that first part was mostly senic driving. Had you stayed till lunch time when the weather cleared up you would have had an awesome time like the rest of us. The three sisters run was literally perfect, and I think everyone else can vouch for that. We ended the meet with roughly 15 cars out of the 20 or so that started.

A big thanks to the organizers Riley Craven & Seatownracer and the cruise leader Creto. It was a blast and can't wait for next year.

Took the words right out of my mouth. My sin and I did have a good solo run back to SA though so it wasn't a total loss but far from perfect. We definitely have to do a followup run when Kev's car is back to normal.

Do not get me wrong the event was fun but ya did not even follow the rules you set down from the beginning.
with the rain some of us did get behind...
rules as I heard them was that each group would stop at each scheduled stop until all groups caught up before continuing... well we caught up with group B at the Biker Place in Leakey and were quickly told "we gotta go right now group A is already eating lunch" so we promptly left to catch up. (what happened to all groups waiting for the following groups to catch up????) that is when our bud had the accident and everyone else just left us behind... we stayed and got him back on the road home which took about an hour. By that time the A group had already completed the 3 sisters loop leaving us little chance to go also. So Grungepup and I went ahead to Stonehenge and did a photo opt instead. This is not meant to demean anyone just making a point...
But what can ya do **** happens... better luck next year...
we did enjoy this event so like I said do not get me wrong the best part for me was the night run and photo opt at Stonehenge on Sat night...

group A didnt know if the other groups were following...because someone said it was got called off cuz of rain...there was confusion at lunch and we couldnt reach anyone

I agree with mike, I think the first group shouldve waited or something. I know its tough with communication since no one really had service and radios only work so far, but let's use this as another example to further better this event for the future. I had a blast after lunch, great meeting everyone. We seriously need to do a better job getting more 8's from SA, ATX, and houston cause the DFW crew made was huge haha. I hope everyone had fun and expect ya'll next time. Kevo, hope everything works out with the insurance, seeing that car like that was hard but at least no one was hurt. **** looking over that guardrail you have to be thankful that it was only as bad as it was. Thanks for coming out everyone!

confusion or not, when word got out that there was a wreck involving a member more effort should have been taken to make sure he was alright and able to get back home... but hey to each their own, he had true friends there to help him out. Just look at it this way, what if its you next time, how would you like it if your group leader told you "well i dunno but we have to catch up to the rest of guys, they are already eating..... good luck"

As an event organizer, and one of the only few people to have a financial stake in the meet, I wanted to make sure that the meet was represented properly. The meet was not a bust because of the weather. I did not comment on the incident purposefully because I did not want to get involved.
Yes, it was unfortunate, but I am not sure what was to be expected of the rest of the meet participants or the organizers. The car was drivable and the driver was safe. I verified this with my own eyes before leaving the scene(and was the last car to leave the scene from the group that continued) While I think its wonderful that Kevo has friends that stayed behind and sacrificed the rest of their meet to stay with him, I would hope that there would be no expectation that the entire rest of the meet should have stayed behind because of it. Not only would that have been a safety hazard (20 cars on narrow roads up in the hills) but it would have also been pointless given the driver and car were both ok.
That being said the three sister run was indeed perfect for the people who participated. I say this despite just paying 800 dollars to replace my AC condenser that was busted while on this run.
I understand there was some confusion at Stonehenge. I was not aware until much latter in the meet that we had lost cars because someone said it was canceled due to rain. This was not called by a meet a organizer. I would have thought it would have been obvious, however, that the meet was not called off when group A continued with the run after Stonehenge. I will make a note for the next meet that those types of communications should be confirmed by meet organizers so as not have this happen again.
I also agree that the rules were not completely followed, and for that I apologize. I will have a separate talk with all group leaders next time to ensure that the meet stops appropriately. But you will also note that I made sure that we had all the cars from B and C at the motorcycle shop before we continued to lunch. As far as rules are concerned, not many of them were followed, for example the BMW being in front of B and C group. I was planning on making group adjustments as we went but the rain at Stonehenge made that impossible. The issue was further compounded when A group did not wait for the rest of the groups. By the time we finished lunch there was no difference in the groups as we all merged. I did not try to enforce groups further given no one was sticking to their assignments at this point anyway.
As far as radio's, well that was another problem, I personally had problems communicating with A group on the radio, especially being so far behind. The radios were mainly meant to help within the groups to keep them together and to issue general warnings about road conditions, not to talk between the groups while on the run. (group A is going to be too far ahead in all circumstances for radios to do any good for the other groups in that type of terrain)
As far as the incident is concerned, I hope we can put that behind us. As far as issue on the meet, please post if you had more than what was already mentioned. It is my goal to make each meet better than the last.
