Cool, but be aware, grungepup had these and they were gone in 6 months. Mine are twice the age and still have a ton of rubber left after a year and half of abuse.

9krpmrx8 04-27-2010 02:36 PM

I'm not a huge sticker fan myself. As you can tell, I like the clean look. You barely notice the sticker, most think it's stock.

Brandon, these are the tires that I can get for $100 each installed (not sure if that is a great deal, but better then $300 for two like I normally would pay)......the ones I was telling you about.

I can say I have used these on and off the track (autox) and I have been very impressed. Way better than the bridges-tones I paid an arm and a leg for that lasted less than a year. I know Grungepup is not overly impressed with his Pilot Sport 2's, good thing he didn't pay retail at $230.00 a piece for them.

Will I run them when I have track only wheels? No, but fro $800.00 I can get two sets of 245/40-18's mounted and balanced.

I have had better dry traction tires but these are great all around, wet, dry, cold, whatever.

yea that does look sharp

Grungepup 04-27-2010 04:39 PM

i will NEVER.... NEVER buy the top of the line, most expensive tires ever again.......

I bought a set of Eagle GT II's with the LS5's, one only lasted 7k miles, rotated them every 3k. The seller denied the warranty because he said it was due to suspension issues, but when he put it on the alignment rack, it came back with in tolerances and still denied it because he couldn't explain why only 1 ran down the way it did. I then put on a set of 255/45 Michelin Pilot Sports on the rear that had seen some considerable track time and they lasted a good while considering, and had awesome grip. I now have a set of 225/45 pilot sports, but they dont look like the same type i had on before and handle for shit, i very loose.

deadphoenix52 04-27-2010 06:52 PM

i think ive changed my mind on the 'good-for-a-year' tires. i was looking at the eagle gt's well. the consensus is that they dont last very long.

i'm replacing my tires this summer. time for something all season and long lasting since my 8's track and autocross days are over.

looking at the pilot sport a/s plus. they seem to be fantastic

Grungepup 04-27-2010 10:51 PM

you cant beat the hercules ones that 9k posted earlier for the price
