It looks like we may encounter some scatter drizzles tomorrow, but most of the rains look like they are staying more north east.

Thanks for asking about parking. We'll see y'all later today!

Let's do this.

Have fun. I'm definitely not making it. The RX-7 is not back on the road yet. Last weekend I was working on the car getting it ready for the trip. I was trying to fix an exhaust leak at the header flange. In the process I broke 2 exhaust studs at the engine. Both on the same housing. The 13B has a total of 4 exhaust studs. 2 on each aluminum rotor housing. I can't even drive the car right now and I'm not sure how to get them out without rebuilding the engine. It looks like I may be porting a new motor soon. This drive will have to wait until next year. Then again if I have a ported motor by then, I'll be able to keep up!

Grungepup 04-30-2010 10:50 AM

yeah i have been watching the weather for the coming weekend and looks like SA will get hit will morning drizzle on saturday, but it should be clear sailing once we start to head out west.

wrex 04-30-2010 02:32 PM

In typical fashion, looks like all the RX7's are broken. Trying to get a new turbo on but have some probs w/ fuel, still need a downpipe fabbed up, plus tuning. Prolly off for the cruise but may be able to swing by Big'z. Enjoy the drive!

rotarygod 04-30-2010 03:28 PM

The RX-7 is only broken because I worked on it! The car has 160,000 miles on it and still has great compression. I want to see how many RX-8's will be there that can make that claim!

You're right... I mean, it's not like the DFW crew spent over five hours driving down here. Besides, the meet is about driving tomorrow. If you're too impaired to operate your vehicle, you will not be driving with the group.

Moderation is wise. Drink when it's over... tomorrow night.

Thanks to everyone who came to this year's meet. Glad we all had fun and stayed safe. I will post the link to the album whenever Shawn (STI) uploads the pics and videos. Please allow a day or two for this as he has over 1000 pics and a few videos. Can't wait to get planning for next year's event.

So after going through my pictures, I was able to determine the name of the "biker gang" that:
a) was riding illegally side by side
b) tried to force me off the road when I passed them legally
c) moved to riding 4 wide across both lanes to prevent anyone else from passing
d) stopped to "have words/intimidate" me before they saw 30 other 8's pull up

A group of active, former and retired POLICE OFFICERS based in Dallas. Between them and the Bandera County Sheriff's actions, can't say it was a stellar day for representing police officers.

It's because their four core ideals are Brotherhood, Fun, Fellowship and Riding. Not obeying the law

Creto 05-03-2010 11:51 AM

all having been in law enforcement or still serving, will be individuals that others can look up to. They will be wise. They will be leaders. Their character will make others proud. And they will always represent right over wrong and good over evil... will always strive to represent the best of law enforcement's finest.

They must have forgotten about this page.

Lord ET 05-03-2010 12:02 PM

at least this didn't happen to us.

I really want to post a message on their "guestbook", but I'm trying real hard to not start even more crap.

I think more should comment on their guest book

Riley Craven 05-03-2010 01:16 PM

That's fine, but I want to keep any comments on their boards civil.

While we are not claiming a moral high ground here, there is no reason to be complete dicks and curse them out (much as we may want to).

The goal is constructive criticism, hopefully if we meet again they will have some courtesy. I wont hold my breath, but there's no reason to go over board here.

Lord ET 05-03-2010 01:21 PM

talk about civility....not

I am glad to see that the obnoxious actions that LE does while in uniform are the same things they do when not in uniform. And then they wonder why people don't trust or respect LE officials anymore. I found it very ironic that the signs on the 3 sisters read "share the road" with a bike on it, but it was the bikers that didn't want to share the road. BUNCH OF FUCKING JACKASS'S!!!!!!!!

... i don't think that's what Thomas meant by not going overboard...

Just remember...some of these guys are active cops. They will have connections and the potential to really put a damper on your day. And of course, who's to say they don't decide to bring some of their cop friends down nex year and follow us the whole way.

Just saying...

Yes, which is exactly why I was trying to keep things civil, and as anonymous as possible.
