*shrug*, I wouldn't call either you or nick or gear heads, its not like you are constantly rebuilding your engine or anything. (I think in terms of extreme's) In any case what would have been the approp one to use?

Well at Biff's there are plenty of CAR ENTHUSIASTS, granted there will be the douchie mustangs but people just walk around check out the cars. The only reason I suggested it was it just happens to be something the SARX group does on a weekly basis when weather permits.

and no, i would not like to go a general car meet. cuz the majority will be ricers. but gear heads should not be lumped in with them. you have to be intelligent to work on and rebuild cars. unlike the ricers who electric-hyper-turbo their civic then wonder why it exploded.

Yeah Biffs is nowhere near ricers, they have it pretty well organized to keep the nonwanted out. They charge a $5 cover per car but they also give you a $5 coupon that can be used for food or beer.

just wondering, why don't y'all hold it near austin, most people probably know someone there (free lodging), good nightlife, hill country drive (lime creek road), good BBQ too. and it's 3 hour from DFW, 1 hour from SA, 2 hours from Houston, smack in the middle.
i am in dallas now, not austin so it's not really like i don't wanna drive lol
and to someone who post earlier, i am a "driver", my only mod is racing beat autox exhaust, got it for a steal @ $250 =), some dings here and there, and some marks left by cones near my tires. =)

Sigh no more thread jacking...
As for wherever we go I'm down. The car meet show place to eat sounds fun and I wouldn't mind showing off mi carro, but I do understand what Thomas is trying to say, some crowds don't like or understand the 8 or Rotary in general. People always asking "why didn't you get a 350Z and 1.3L is for pussies" etc. So whatever we do, as long as there isn't a huge Brawl between some group I'll be down.

Lol, I was trying to clarify that I was trying not to be judgmental. I would classify Brian ("*****") as a gear head and he's an awesome dude.
So basically what I was trying to say is that I prefer to hang out with "drivers" (yes you are included in this group WTB, even though we give you crap about it)
instead of gear heads (people that are very good at mechanical)
or ricers (people that like to do street races)
That being said either of those types could be a driver (someone who enjoys driving) at the same time, its just rare that you find an all in one person.

Just my opinion, but I'm not a huge fan of staying in SA and driving up there during the day and all the way back. I know you guys say it's not that far, but that adds an extra 100 miles of driving to the day if we stay north of 1604. Normally, driving is a good thing, but after driving last year, I was EXHAUSTED when we got back to the hotel. Knowing that we still have an extra hour of driving just to get back to the hotel kind of bothers me.
It's been my experience that when getting a group of 6+ cars together, you should expect to do about 50mph and add an extra 15-20 min to your trip. Yes, I understand we all know how to drive and all that, but I just think we are making things more difficult than they need to be.
Also, knowing that everyone is staying there at the hotel, it gave us a great opportunity to hang out with people from all over for as long as we wanted. We could all drink and have fun and not worry about a thing. When you got tired, or too drunk ::cough WTBRotary cough::, you could just head back to your room. If we are in SA, I would imagine alot of that group will want to head back to their own places to crash for the night, and I don't blame them for that.
I just think if we keep trying to change it up every year, it'll never really take off. It's one thing to try and find a better hotel (although I didn't have any complaints), or better communication, but moving the meeting spot to a completely different city 60 miles away really changes things. If you look at all the big meets, they do the SAME THING in the SAME PLACE every year. I thought last year was a success (minus Kevo's unfortunate accident), and I think we should build on that.
That's just my $.02.
