Customs is a pain in the ass!
i guess its worse in Italy. |
Indeed. The customs office should contact me today to address the problem. It looks like Girodisc f'd up on some declarations so I will probably have to pay twice and then ask'em my money back.
Nice... |
oh how i love the $1000 limit for no customs or taxes! :)
unlucky guys, hope everything works out! |
F***KIN customs, they are anbelivebel! should it really take longer time in customs then sending a package across the world?!?!
just needed to write of some frustration. |

What happened is that the customs sent through the box without invoice taxing it at their own pleasure (yay..!) and now the invoice doesn't correspond to the other box's content (2 discs instead of 4 etc). They will charge me twice this way, one for the first box that went through and another time for the whole invoice. I'm trying to avoid that but Girodisc should do their homework better, it's gonna cost them a refund for the extra taxes i'm paying because of their mistake if my attempts fail. |

Damn....what if i send you an official invoice from me with a different price etc....that will make sense to customs...can you have them reinstate the taxes and than refund you since it was incorrect. LMK....but I have done that before with a $8K M3 BBK that was sent to Japan. |

Now that I received the first box (without invoice) there's nothing that can be done. They should send me a fax\letter on monday with an attached declaration (goods\price\invoice\whatever). If I refuse to pay they'll send the box back or just crush it. My only chance will be to attach the previously paid taxes to my declaration and see what happens. That's not even the customs' fault, it was Girodisc screwing up. If you have a chance tell them to split the invoices between the boxes (half the price\partial shipping costs) if they can't to an individual shipment with 2 boxes the next time! Just to be clear, i'm not mad at you Adam since you did a great job of keeping us updated but months of delay and this mess will make me buy replacement rotors from coleman ( http://www.colemanracing.com ) directly... screw Girodisc! |
Hmmm this may be why My are stuck in customs...
Tried to call them but they didnt want to check bf monday. |

Installed! I hope I got them in the right direction, boxes and stickers text didnt match so I went with the direction in the manual instead.
So this is just a short brake to show of the brakes installed now out and continue to get it ready for the track. =) http://www.fastlaneracing.se/wp-cont...c/img_0472.jpg http://www.fastlaneracing.se/wp-cont...c/img_0473.jpg http://www.fastlaneracing.se/wp-cont...c/img_0474.jpg http://www.fastlaneracing.se/wp-cont...c/img_0475.jpg |

The set F/R weights 11.48 lbs more that announced basing on the oem rotors weights listed in this forum: is it normal?
This means that they are only 43% lighter than announced: could you please clarify? I'm wrong? Thanking you in advance. |

The weight claims were missed. My ultra high precision bathroom scale says the fronts are 15-15.5 pounds and the rears are 9.5 pounds.
NOT to have fun changing the original rotors with two fancy pieces ones. My precision scale (Voltcraft +/- 20g (0,044lbs)) says: Girodisc Front 15.60lbs Girodisc Rear 9.86lbs Oem front (60 kmiles older) 17,42lbs Oem rear (I haven't one to weight). So for the fronts is 1,82 lbs per rotor gain (800g) means they declared a 3 times bigger gain. I suppose for the rear rotors is quite the same. Is this a scam? Girodisc didn't respected their description; they didn't updated the specs during the design&testing period and didn't made any request to refund to us due to the fact the final product is far away from the announced and never updated one. Girodisc (not THM) should directly refund all of us the 2/3 of the difference between their price and the oem part price because the gain is only 1/3 of the announced one. Regards Furious  Davide P.S. Just an advise, the packaging need to be improved: I received a rotor hat scuffed/chipped. |
Just forget any refund, it want happend.
Ok im also dissapointed in the weight difference but the disc looks like they are going to perform good. Btw I spoke with my local brake dealer and he sells girodisc and many more, his words: the are good but by no means the best. There are better options out there. If you want the best check out performance friction (pfc's) Im going to track my car real soon and I'm excited to test them out. |
