Vivid Racing is one of the largest distributors for JIC Magic in the USA. We not only distribute these parts but extensively use them on our project cars from the EVO, WRX, 240SX, Porsche 996, and of course, our RX8's.

We test suspension, exhaust components, and more in all different types of conditions. Street, track, show, and of course, compare to the competition. JIC Magic engineers their products to give us the best results on our high regarded cars, so in turn, we are turning them on to you. When you need suspension and performance, there is no other for the RX8.

Check out the below deals we have on the RX8 JIC parts for your needs -

JIC Exhaust Systems - JIC exhaust systems offer your RX8 a great solution for improved performance, sound, and style. This sounds really suspicious to me... 9-12hp?? Racing beat reported this:

Power Output
Utilizing our in-house dyno test facilities, the Racing Beat engineering staff has undertaken exhaust system extensive testing with the RX-8 Renesis engine. Our research has found that simply adding a large-diameter, "straight-through" muffler is very loud, and power gains are only modest. We focused our development efforts on optimizing the power output, while maintaining a moderate, but aggressive exhaust tone.

Based upon our initial test sessions, it appeared that the Mazda engineers did not leave much "untapped" horsepower behind in the stock exhaust system. Although it appears there might be modest power gains available from a "cat-back" exhaust system, be wary of big horsepower claims from any aftermarket exhaust system.

Our testing has provided the following results:

Stock production engine - with muffler removed +5 HP
Stock production engine - with RB muffler + 3.5 HP
Stock production engine - with aftermarket system "A" muffler + 3.5 HP
Stock production engine - with aftermarket system "B" muffler + -1.5 HP

i guess it could depend on measurement of hp at the fly or wheel...
and how come they save 10- 20 lbs?? isn't it one part that the exhaust replaces so it should have one weight?

50+ percent error in the figure...

its unfortunate Racing Beat did not post the dyno tests of top manufacturers. I will test them on our own dynos including their system. Flow equals HP and Racing Beat is a respected company, but lets be real, they make HP.

huh? no they don't

it is for sound and looks...I have no problem with that though :-D

if a straight pipe gets no more than 4hp or so...then no way any exhaust will

what would your "sale" price be on the:
Rear Toe Control Arm
Rear Traction Rod
Rear Camber adjustable link
Rear upper front
Rear upper rear
and any other part of the MLS I'm missing...

And what would be the "sale" price for the complete set

Thanks

For anyone wondering about this exhaust system (since I have my new RX-8 Magazine here). It tested at 63db Idle and 84db @ 6750rpms and delivered a lower bass sound according to the chart in the magazine. It has a 60mm pipes with twin 100mm tips. This was the full SS version that was tested.

From my experience with other JIC exhausts on the FD and ones I've seen on SR's I think it's the best bang for the buck and they sound about the best of anything else sold in Japan. (I've been here for 11 years now.) If I can get Mazda Japan to not void my warranty I'll have one on my car.

Actually it is still out in a way... They devote about a 1/4 to 1/2 of RX-7 Magazine to the RX-8. I think I'm missing 4 of the 26 Issues that have been released so far.

Racing Beat concluded that with the entire muffler removed, it had only gained 5hp on their engine dyno...but strapping on a JIC muffler will yield 12hp? I'm not an engineer nor smart, so can someone explain the logic behind this?

I actually drove my car w/o any catback once. it was loud as heck.
It actually felt slower, feels like no torque, I believe its because theres no back pressure? Correct me if Im wrong...

You would be correct... N/A engines require some back pressure to run properly. I also think racing beat was saying peak hp. I personally don't care about peak hp, but if the exhaust add's + hp across the whole low - midrange and does +14 over stock @ some point in that range then I want one.

My best guess is that RB is talking about the increase in peak hp, while JIC is talking about their maximum gain. For example (not real numbers):

Before: 150 whp at 6000 rpm 195 max whp at 8500 rpm
After: 162 whp at 6000 rpm 200 max whp at 8500 rpm

The system only provides 5 more peak horsepower, but provides a higher gain somewhere else in the rev range.

That sounds right to me (as if I know what I'm talking about).

I've checked up on the JIC muffler here in Japan and you beat them by about $100... lol If it wouldn't cost that much to mail it here I'd order one from you...

actually.... can it go out via USPS Priority Mail or is it too big.. If it can what would shipping be to zip code 96367 since I can have it shipped to my military address...
