I have been trying to get a hold of a moderator who can assist me with a name change for a week now and they seem to have all gone AWOL.

Can we please make it so that regular users are allowed to change their username? It seems kind of silly that they aren’t.

I'm not sure who you've been trying to contact, however many moderators are still very much active.

How and who did you attempt to contact of said Mods?

What are you trying to change it to?

User controls are limited for many reasons.

I've contacted Omicron and Zoom44 both referrals of other moderators who didn't have the username privileges

I want to change it to my new license plate- Nopstnz. I told them if that isn't available then Nopistons or Nopistonz.

Chances of an admin going to all the trouble of that are remote, they have a life outside this forum.

Just make yourself a new account, and stop using the old one.

You can even refer to your old name in your sig, for continuity....

I know it’s not rocket surgery, whatever that is. I’ve had this account since 05 and wanted to keep that status instead of approaching the forum as a new member.

Also, is it really that much trouble for them to do that?

It is a headache actually.

I just tried to change it myself, however I do not have the ability to change it.

I would strongly suggest you either attempt to contact them again or create a new account as suggested.

neither is empowering the moderators who do most of the grunt work around here with that capability. I never had any issue getting mine changed on any other forum where I had requested it. We all have lives outside of this forum. If that’s a valid reason then why bother; let’s just shut the entire thing down and go focus on that instead.

Got a life to live? Then go live it already ... there are people here willing to do it if you’re not. Trying to make it sound like you’re the only folks who will and can do it is a bunch of malarkey. In reality it’s more likely that somebody isn’t willing to turn it over any more than do it. Therein is the issue; poop or get off the pot already ...

Team: I do agree and if we're honest that's been a problem on this forum for years now. Too few have the correct permissions and we do not have sufficient moderators with sufficient access to do the things that are required.
I brought it up years ago and a few members were promoted, etc but I still don't think that super mods have the right permissions to do most of the legwork that the few Admins we have can do but who aren't around often enough.

Glad to have the support of seasoned members here... And I have yet to receive a response in over a week from any of the "super" moderators who can actually change this stuff.

It's only the Admins that can change that... the rest of us are supermods and we can't
