damn the OMP runs it lean. The more I think about it premix is a must

MazdaManiac 06-22-2007 12:07 AM

It is indicated that up to 600:1 might be safe for street use!
Now, I know a lot has changed in the rotary since the REW, but coatings and seal materials aside, I can't accept that there is enough difference in the process that allows for fuel/oil dilutions at 50% or less than what the pro builders were recommending just 10 years ago.
Besides, oil is cheap and motors are expensive.

Easy_E1 06-23-2007 03:55 PM

^ Is there a way of disconnecting the OMP lines and measure volume in a receptacle. So as to get a base line (GPM) on oil delivery of the OMP.

Can't speak from experience, but I've heard that premixing kills your catalytic converter. I know that you need to stop premixing a couple of tanks before you try and pass emissions, but I'm not sure where I read that the premix takes a toll on your cat.

MazdaManiac 06-23-2007 06:39 PM

CAT? I don' need no stinkin' CAT!

MazdaManiac 06-24-2007 02:47 PM

I don't have a turf. I'm more like one of those guys that buys a little "extra" from his source and just cuts it up to his friends.

I've been pushing Niki to finalize our plans for the 4th. Rawhide was kinda my idea 'cause its kinda cheesy fun and its close to home (and has a pretty spectacular fireworks display).
I'm sure she'll come up with a plan before I leave on Tuesday.

MazdaManiac 06-25-2007 02:30 PM

Its in south Phoenix near Firebird Raceway.
It is a rustic, 1800's town simulacrum, with folks walking around in period clothing doing period nonsense. Its quite fun.

Its located here:

MazdaManiac 06-25-2007 07:47 PM

This is starting to look even funerer!

So, 4th of July night, Rawhide for food 'n fireworks?

Easy_E1 06-25-2007 08:01 PM

I assume you read the schedule for that day. Looks like a good time.

Did I mention it's gonna be hot as hell? But it's a dry heat.
I LOVE ARIZONA !

MazdaManiac 06-25-2007 08:41 PM

Yeah, it does look like a good time.
Probably a good idea to buy passes ahead of time. We can decide on what to eat once we are there.
I think the fireworks started around 10pm last year.

azlizard 06-26-2007 06:51 PM

Is the July 15 F1 race factory still on?

If so what are the details, morning, evening, run before/after or just race. I'm trying to plan ahead so maybe my wife can come along.

Easy_E1 06-26-2007 08:03 PM

All I know is what's in the schedule, same as you Scott. I would plan on it if I were you. And if for some reason it doesn't happen,, you'll have a nice day with your wife.
I'm going no matter what. So I'll be there. http://azmcadmin.web.aplus.net/vb/fo...wheelchair.gif

Don't worry we'll figure it out in time. I was thinking about getting there at about 5-6:00ish maybe later. Sunset is 7:42pm, on that particular day. So I think we can work something out by then.

chickenwafer 06-26-2007 10:37 PM

did you forget something at Ericks? LOL

Not sure on the date for F1. My wife and I will be in Durango from July 14-21, so possibly need to move it to Sunday the 22nd instead. Anyone up for that change? If so, I'll get it in an email and have Shannon send it out.

MazdaManiac 06-27-2007 02:06 AM

I wouldn't mind doing the carting thing more than once!

As for the 4th, even though they sell it as an "all day" kind of thing, there is no way in hell I'm standing out there in that sun!
6-ish seems fine. The fahrwerks happen at 10, so we can eat prior.

I will double bag them and put them in the trunk. Just not sure when we can get together. But I will work something out.

And Rawhide at 6:00 or so sounds good to me.

Where, exactly, is this "Rawhide" place? I just wanna be sure we know where we are supposed to be going. Besides, Michelle's parents may want to join up with us. They are a couple of Harley-riding, forever-young, types and pretty cool people.

Just go back a few posts:
