Just got home, had a blast! Everyone who broke early for Phoenix, missed out on the best part of the drive down to Wickenburg!! Got a little crazy. Tim, Jesse, Lynn, everyone else, I had a blast!
And unfortunately I forgot my camera today so no pictures from me...

Thanks for the good run. It was nice to see some snow! I almost had to roll up my windows from Payson to Cottonwood.
Sorry I had to cut out early from Prescott, I had a soccer game at 6:00 that I barely made it back for. I'll check out the few pics I took but no promises as I had no co-pilot.
Thanks all.

I tried like mad to get some decent pics of the snow but they suck I needed a co-pilot big time to shoot pics. NO wonder Easy has such aweome pics all the time, that Micki is a Pro by now! I'll go through my pics later and post some up here. I did a quick run through but was pretty disappointed in what I managed to come home with.
I have to re-iterate how great your WB looks w/the appearance package. It really beefs up your 8. Also I was driving behind you on the 69 back to the 17 and your wheels don't look 'narrow' at all. None the less, I can see you point about wanting slighly wider tires. You might check w/AZLizard. His are bigger and the improved look is subtle, but perfect for the 8.

Second that -- 15-20 minutes of continuous twisties at whatever speed the wife could stand. We really got lucky with traffic on that stretch.

Here's a few pics I got. I believe we had 9 cars total show up which was a nice size really.
Our fearless little Miata piloted by Tim gives us a little taste of funner turns to come as we make our way into Strawberry
Welcome to Strawberry, AZ
The sign we've all been waiting for.... Twisties Ahead WOOT! WOOT!
I can't believe we saw snow...not once but TWICE! Here's the first town:
I had the pleasure of getting stuck behind these EXTREMELY L O U D bikes up to Jerome. Desert Thunder they call themselves:
Hmmm just a prospect. I wonder what it takes to be a full fledged member?
As promised, a 2nd round of snow in northern AZ. Gorgeous snowy pines!
Oh boy! Oh boy! Oh boy!
Plenty of turns with rough pavement made ya pay attention to what you were doing!
Plenty of deep hairpin turns to bring a smile to any drivers face
Hope you enjoyed the tour.

Awesome pictures of the scenery most definitly! And I enjoyed the caption on the first one. "Our fearless little Miata piloted by Tim", lol. Very nice Miata by the way. Looks in great shape for it's year

I like to call it "the little Miata that could" cuz it sure is a capable li'l thang! I'm a huge fan of them myself, seeing that I traded in my MX5 for the RX8...

She really exposed her lack of power post lunch when Jesse and Lynn romped on their supercharged 8 and left me in the weeds. Oh well... for 110 hp, she holds her own. Boy, and you guys with 8s complain about a lack of power
#84
Hey now, don't leave me out of that sentence. I may not be supercharged, but I had Timarie freaking out everytime I wanted to bump draft with you, haha.
#85
Glad you guys left the "bump" part out of your drafting strategy. I was just trying to "save you" from the temptation to drive faster. And we all saw what happens when that temptation takes over didn't we? Just about went slip sliding away a little later down the road Glad everyone made it home safe, but still had FUN!

When and where? I have a friend flying in from Germany soon, and I'm taking her Jet Skiing, and I was looking into taking her racing. While Autocrossing, can you have a passenger?
#89

nope, just your car. They even provide a loaner helmet if you don't have one.
go to www.azmazdaclub.com and watch the forums. then put your name on the list when registration starts so we know your coming and look for you. Then register your car through the scca site
for now the thread were discussing autocross in is: http://www.azmazdaclub.com/forums/sh...?t=3848&page=9
When we get closer to the date a separate thread will probably get created

SCHEDULE CHANGE: Saturday, April 12 - Spring Tortilla Flats Run. Meet at the Waffle House near the intersection of Idaho Road and U.S. 60 at 10 am. Plan is to caravan out to Tortilla Flats for lunch, then cruise to the end of the road for a group shot and club Raffle. Note: this event and our May event have been switched. The Valley Casino Poker Run will NOW take place in early May. May date TBD (not to conflict with AZ Solo 2 schedule).

Thanks for the clarification Poolside. Yes, we're doing Tortilla Flats next Saturday, April 12th and the Poker Run in May. I've just had too much going on the past few weeks with visitors in town, so the "Flats" is an easier event for us to plan and execute next week. So.... anyone going to join me next Saturday?

P.S. How did the AZMC event go last night? Was the party truly a "surprise"?
