New Long Beach 8 owner
Hey fellas, I'm new to the car, the forum, the city, all of it. I now live in Long Beach and was wondering if any of you have any mechanics in the area that you could recommend to me. I am not trusting anyone that I am finding including Long Beach Mazda.

Thanks everyone!
I knew I saw Mazdatrix online somewhere but then I couldn't find it again. I will check them out but send me your phone/info if you think you could help me.
I have a whole story to tell about my car, so here goes. I bought the car (2004 RX-8 with 111,000 miles on it) in September and the day after I bought it, the check engine light went on. I took it back to the Toyota dealership where I had just had a full inspection done on the car and they told me they did not work on rotary engine. The selling dealership told me to bring the car there and they would fix it for me. I went out of town, dropped my car off, and came back to find out they had just turned the light off but did no repairs.
At that time, I found out from one of the workers there that someone at the dealership had been driving the car and they already knew that the check engine light had been on before but had done the same thing. I was very upset but at that point, what could I do with no code? They did not deny that they had turned the light off either. They just told me to come wait and come back when the light came on again.
The light came on around Thanksgiving for a day and a half but I didn't have time to get it to a mechanic. Then on 12/22 I walk out to my car and it would not start. I've had several mechanics take a look at it. The code it is running is P2259. I had the solenoid replaced. I've read online that the harness wire is very sensitive because of the angle it is placed.
Currently ACA Auto is telling me that the engine was flooded and that there was a recall related to it not restarting. They are telling me that the car will continue to flood if I do not get it fixed. They are not explaining to me anything about the original code which confuses me.
Needless to say the dealership where I bought the car is telling me that the car is out of warranty now and they will not help. I have contacted my attorney and we are in the process of starting a law suit. I've also contacted BBB where they already have an F rating, BAR, and DMV.
Bottom line is this: I need to figure out what the car really needs to get fixed and if I should try to repair it or exersize my right of rescission and just make these shady guys take my car back. I'm sure you guys will all agree I need to get it somewhere that understands this type of car because it doesn't seem like anyone so far has.
PS - I absolutely love this car. The reason why I wanted this one is because it has the heated leather seats, paddle shifters, navigation and just about every upgrade that I have seen available. I believe it has custom fenders as well. Its a great car because I really only drive it back and forth to Newport from Long Beach on the weekends.

Greatest Auto Sales/Fails
Yep, they are super shady. Good news is I think the letter from my attorney woke them up. Sales manager, Jessie, called me yesterday assuring me that we were friends. Ha!
My car is at Mazdatrix today and they are the first and only ones who are running a compression test (now finally someone is making sense to me!) today and then taking it from there.
