has anyone recieved their generic license plates yet? its been 2 months and i still havnt recieved my plates. and no generic plates means i cant pick up my custom plates. god damn the cali dmv is seriously a bunch of inept idiots. and to think that we are going to have to pay these idiots TRIPLE the current registration fee.

 

Got my Cali plates yesterday, Picked up car 7/14, now off to get my personalized plates that have been at the DMV for 4 months.
I'm one of th old timers you met at the In & Out.

 

I'm in no rush to get my plates, just this morning I made my own custom 'brothervoodoo' logo and will sport that while I'm waiting for my real plates to show.. :p

 

I got the car on 072703 and I have no plates and I dont mind not having them either

i picked mine up 7/15 and the last lady i spoke to at the dealership filling out paperwork with said it will probably take about 90 days for my plates to arrive... it has yet to be a month still =)

 

Picked up my Nordic Green four weeks ago tomorrow. Still have yet to receive generic plates. After I do I'll have to apply to affix my custom plates. I'm told that will take another couple of months.

Has anyone got a plan to avoid destroying the look of the grille by mounting a plate that blocks the intake?

I've been told there is a limit to the number of Fix-It tickets you can receive.

Maybe when Arnold "cleans house" in Sacramento, things will start working properly in this state.

I'm also planning on paying off my 8 with the windfall tax breaks I'll get from the Bush administration.

 

glad to see im not the only one frustrated by this shitty system known as the california DMV. yea hopefully arnold will clean **** up. arnold drives a hummer, so thats defintly a good sign for us motorists.

 

I still haven't got my generic plates yet. I may have to make a visit to the DMV to keep my personalized ones on hold. I took delivery on 7/25.

 

There is no limit no fix it tickets I got about a hundred of them in my last car. I dont care that front plate is not going on my rx8

 

Mike, can you elaborate on this? What's the penalty for not fixing a fix-it? Do they get nasty with you after awhile?

 

What I meant is I got fix it tickets for air ride and exhaust and no front plate and the penatly is just proof of correction and 10 bucks so I would put the front plate on and get it signed off by a cop and then take the plate off again

 

Two months now and still no plates. How hard can this possibly be for DMV? I mean, we're just talking take the next set of plates off the stack and send it to me.

I dont plan on putting a license plate on either. A lot of people in my car team have DTM cars with european fake license plates and they get away with it, they just say... oh its probably in the mail or got lost in the mail cuz I never received it. With a brand new car they will be understanding also.

 

Bought mine on 07/26 and got my plates on the 9/17. Immediately went to DMV and turned them in Thursday morning for "PUPZRX8"

 

Got mine today, over 2 months after buying the car. God bless Cali DMV! the fount of efficiency.

 

Damn ya i know im getting mine refinanced at 4.65 for a long period of time so i can pay off early but then i have to bring in the registration first and it has to be in 90 days grrrrr got mine mid july as well.
