Second, why in the hell would you mention simple interest versus rule of 78 without ONE sentence explaining the difference?
Third, so again, why would you unnecessarily complicate things for the poor girl? God knows she's already freaked out by ME.

Second: trying to explain the difference in interest methods in ONE sentence is so complex that even I wouldn't attempt it. It would take a whole paragraph or two.
Third: I thought by giving her some good advice, it would bring her down from her potentially freaked out state.
I would sure like to hear from her as to the eventual outcome of all this.

I would go with Fleet Manager/Internet Sales. The Salespeople have a more agressive quotas they have to meet.. Go read on Edmunds.com to see the story of a Salesman in action. Also my friend use to be fleet manager for Toyota in AZ and he told me to always go to Fleet Managers or directly to the head Manager for deals.

When I got my baby I didn't even mention college rebate until the very end.. We had agreed to a price for the GT package and then I told them that I had found the rebate. brought in the copy from the Mazda website and my diploma. Pretty much the guy had to say yeah sure since its a Mazda promotion.
good luck finding your car..
oh yeah when I got mine (thanksgiving) browning had a ton of reds! I am not too sure about now, but here is a picture of their back inventory when I picked my silver up! I would bet that someone has the exact car you want!
oh yeah any rx-8 beats any robot that I could build! :D

MARYDOLL,
Looks like there are 6 of the config you are looking for within 50 miles Torrance, where I live. Looks like some may have more goodies than others. See link:
http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/vlResults.action
Disregard the MSRP!! If you are interested in either of the 2 at Anaheim. let me know.
Is the price you were quoted out the door?
Verne

Be very very careful about Browning. When I went in late October, virtually every single one of their RX8's, including the ones on the giant second lot, had build dates of June or July (other dealerships already had August and September cars at that time and I ended up getting a September car). That was highly unusual compared to just about all of the other (over 10) dealerships I visited.
If you go to Browning, make sure you check the build date on the driver's side door sill. Try to get a December car. DO NOT accept a July or August car as they may contain some of the nagging problems associated with early production.
Oops, earlier I had said I wasn't going to help Marydoll anymore. So this advice is for everyone except Marydoll.
And damn it, Kaliken, DO NOT build Marydoll a robot.

Guess what else. The only problem I have is the same as your's - trying to keep a straight face when I see everyone eyeing my winning blue AT.

I hope to God Browning doesn't have any more July cars, but if they did, I wouldn't be surprised.
But in general, at this time, I would imagine some dealerships would have some September cars left. Right now, I would only get a November or December car.
And Mike and I already went through this before. Regardless what Mike or whoever did when they bought their own cars, it is irresponsible to suggest to a prospective buyer NOT TO WORRY about build date. The logic is simple. Everyday buyers like ourselves have only one card to play: to play the odds by buying among the most recently built cars in order to maximize the chances that early nagging issues have been remedied. Obviously, nothing is guaranteed by this, but if you do otherwise, that's just not smart. Why do you think some people even wait until the second or third production years? Come on, it's common sense.

Are you getting an AT or MT? What package(s) are on it? Are you getting a spoiler and/or spare tire and/or the Nav? Let me know.
My AT cost me 27500 with an MSRP of 31100.

when is your build date?
How would you know?
I have more experience if my car is actually a July build, and you are right people do what untill the next year to buy cars but they don't wait one or two months thinking that's better or safer with no PROOF

What is it BEFORE taxes, and what is the finance % they are offering you? That can factor into the final price you mentioned. As far as I know in November, fully stocked GT Nav 6Speed was in the 30k-30,900range... somewhere in there depending on locale and stock. This was in So Cali.

What I'm looking for is RED or BLACK AT with only the GT package black/red interior, and just the rear wing spoiler.

Hey shift_zoom8:
What is wrong with AT? I know there is a big horsepower diff, but who cares.... Some people just enjoy the comfort of an AT, especially in heay traffic congested areas like LA.
