I'm assuming this means Orange County?
At the moment there isn't an offical meet anywhere in O.C. but there are a few options out there for us:
San Bernardino Meet
This is a pretty organized group that gets together every month. Usually we hang out for a little while, talk about mods and then go for a fun drive.
LAX Meet
Good group of guys here that get together every month. Usually hang around, talk about mods, take pictures and sometimes grab a bite to eat afterwards
Malibu Cruise
If you're looking for an adrenaline rush with a group of friendly people, this is a fun meet. A drive through the malibu canyons with lunch on PCH. (This cruise is on hold for now until weather gets better. Expect something in a month or so)
On a side note: Welcome to the forum! Where in O.C. are you located? I'm always looking for fellow Rotary people.
Oh, one other thing you should look into:

I live in westminster, I just got my 8 on friday. Love it but need some work on it. I dont like to drive it stock. i am looking into getting a body kit, spolier, exhaust, intake, you know - the usual things, and whatever come up next. It would be nice if someone in orange county setup a meet so we don't have to drive all the way up in LAX.
p.s. i am down with the meet but the last couple things..hahahaha not interested.

Hmm, that might be why I haven't been to the LAX meet yet... haha! Just kiddin' XDeedubbx... I will definitely have to make it out there soon.
When this forum first launched, there used to be a meet in Buena Park for the OC guys but it died out after the organizer sold his RX-8 to a family member and bought himself a new motorcycle.
If you're looking for advice on mods, I would definitely recommend the LAX and SB meets.
The SB guys even go to Auto Cross events together!
There are plenty of us out there with mods so it might be worth the drive to one of the meets. Also, Xdeedubbx is also the forum's resident, "HKS junkie" so I'm sure he would have some advice for ya.
Do you have any idea what intake or exhaust you're looking at?

Don't forget the Diamond Bar area meet. I have never gone, so I don't have any comments on who attends, or what they do. You may want to pop into that thread and check it out.
And with the SoCal RX club, there is a once a month meet on the first Saturday or the month. Tustin is probably the closest to you. Never been there either, so no info here.
As a side thought, I wanted to do the same thing as you when I first got my car...but there were not that many modded 8's at the time. Now, you should have plenty to choose from. I always want to see something in person, talk to the owner...rather than buy something from a web advertisement or small print add pic.

i was thinking of the Racing beat exhaust since it's street legal. I saw it in the dealer and ask the sale guy and he say it's street legal. I just want something better then the stock, a bit louder. So far i already got an alarm system, it's actually at the shop rite now..hahaha..custom box for 2 12" kicker L5. I am jsut running the stock HU. To much hassle to change to anohter deck. Tustin is close to where i live and plus it on a weekend. from what i saw on this forum, the socal rx club website is down.

the Socal RX meet is this weekend (5/6). I think most people show up around 9 if I remember right.
I have the Racing Beat exhaust, plus the intake and ram air duct. Great sound overall. The exhaust is heavier than stock, produces very little horse power gains, and is one of the more subtle exhausts with regards to sound. May not fit your needs. You may be happier with an HKS or Greddy exhaust. They are louder, and give you a "pop" sound between gears.
The Racing Beat intake is quiet as well, except under WOT. It opens up nicely and gives you a very aggressive sound. With the ram air duct installed, the whole system is much louder. Again, if you want a loud intake, go with the K/N Typhoon, generation II...or AEM cold air intake. HKS intake is not all that great, sound or appearance wise IMO.
Hope that helps.

thanks for the info. i just want something a little louder and if a cop pull me over, i will be like "it's street legal....in your face"..hehehehe...i am not goign to say those exact word..dont wanna hitch a ride with them. i read on their RB website and they claim a 3.5 hp gain. it not a lot but you should never expect alot from just the exhaust itself. If you guys can find out the exact time and location for this sat in tustin, i would definitely show up and see all the other 8's.

RX8 HA HA
i hate to say it due to flaming but with my hks suction installed i made 2 more pounds of torque more than the racing beat, but the racing beat intake made about 1-2 more hp overall.

Yes, I auto cross and do the Malibu runs. Speeddemon32 in the San Bernardino thread took his 8 to the drag strip once. Didn't get much traction on street tires.

I've got the Racing beat exhaust, Intake, and air duct as well. I purchased mine from www.mazdaparts.com (forum vendor) If you register with his website and tell him you're from this forum, he'll give you even lower prices.
After all was said and done, I think it was probably over $1,000.

I'm pretty sure there will still be a meet on saturday.
I'll shoot some of the SoCal RX guys an email when I get home to see if I can get a definite answer. I won't be at the meet this weekend though.
