Anyone up for a professional Nitrous install?

Hey guys. I have been in communication with a member of this forum, Charles R Hill. Anyone who knows him probably knows that he is the resident nitrous expert. Just check out his "Direct port conversion" and "Rules of Nitrous" threads in the Major HP tech forum.
Well, he has said that he can come down to So Cali or AZ around June or July to do some nitrous installations. If we can get a group of us together it will justify his expenses. He can drill/tap your UIM and expertly install the whole system (you must provide your own system, he recommends the ZEX 82021P wet kit from morepowerracing.com). Plus, you'll get to meet some fellow members!
Location is up for debate because San Deigo is only 6 hours from Phoenix, if there are more people in SD we'll meet there or more peps in PHX we'll meet here. Charles would like at least 6-8 people for the turn-out. And you are welcome to join even if you aren't getting a kit installed but would just like to help-out and possibly learn a little nitrous know-how. It will be fun for all parties involved!
So who's interested? Please let me or Charles R Hill know. I appreciate it!

I would be there if it is here in Socal. I am holding off on a nitrous kit for my car . . . But I am always down to help people wrench on their cars.

That is the plan!! But we obviously need a nice sized "group" of people, around 6-8 to make it happen.

Hey EASY, I'll put this up on AZMC and gauge some interest. But it looks like the plan is to meet in San Diego now, as that's where Charles will be.
Come on guys, it will be fun! Meet fellow members and get some nitrous so we can blow the doors off some 350s!

We suck! Come'on guys, this will be fun. We can nitrous or anything else! Look it up in the NE forum for their install get-together. A lot of peps turned out IN THE SNOW and all and had a great time all together. I think this would be great. You don't have to bring any parts either, just show up for fun. Come on!

I just want to point out that CRH is about as professional as they come. He came to the shop where I work to perform a nitrous install on another one our members car this weekend, and even though we ran out of time, and didnt get the kit fully operational (plus it was snowing its a$$ off), the install was about as neat as I have ever seen.

thanks, Lurch. I have been communicating with Charles and he is very professional sounding and curtious/helpful already. How many other forum members are willing to drive/fly halfway across the country just to help you install something you could get done at a shop for more money? Not too many.

It's slowly looking like this ain't gonna happen
Not to mention your travel costs (Charles) will probably be really pricey so we would need a lot of people in order to make it less expensive on each of us.

I'm not doubting we would save a boat load of cash! I know we would because I've called a few places and they all want a lot more for a complete install, plus they want to sell me a kit they get at a ridiciously cheapo price and markit up to $750 for me! A lot of places won't install a part you bring them because they can't garrantee it.
I'm just saying, we need to get a bunch of us just to split your travel costs.
Also, we need a place to work! Since this is in SD I don't know of anything. Hopefully someone has a garage with some nice jacks.
This is all still in it's beginning stages. The original plan wasn't for this to happen until June or July, so we still have plent o-time!

Hey Easy_E1, the ZEX 82021P Wet nitrous kit is the only one stamped with the CRH-approval as of now. The website he list has the best price. You will also need a pressure gauge that you can find from Summitracing.com or Jegs.com for pretty cheap. You can add an electric remote bottle valve opener (so you don't have to get out of the car to turn the nitrous on), a purge kit, and a few other accessories, even going dual-bottle! If you want to go Direct port (like I'm doing) you will need an extra nozzle, t-fitting, barbs, hoses, and a few other misc parts that CRH lists in his "Direct Port Nitrous Conversion" Thread. He can drill/tap your UIM so don't worry about that

I decided I am forgoing the Purge kit. But I will still add the remote opener and pressure gauge.
I want the dual nozzle just for a clean, professional look. Not to say that the nozzle in the tube isn't, but I really like the look of your setup. Not to mention, I think it will work better, reguardless if I'm running a 55-hp shot or greater. Direct port would just be so much "tricker". The only problem is it's harder (i.e. more expensive) to reverse!

I agree! But it seems like no one is into this.
I'm think San Deigo is a better place to do it, because less people in AZ are interested. The biggets problem is finding a place to work

dude charles, you are so generous.... i would feel guilty if you actually came here and us not paying you for anytihng. You are helping us out so the least we can do is pay some money.

but everyone!! get this modd!!! hahah it'll be all worth it!
actually charles and i are trying to work for a different setup for my car. I am going for the 2.5lb bottles so i can put in the undertray of our trunks. If you guys are interested in this too, join in

Wow, super generous offer, Charles. You are a stand-up guy and an asset to this forum!
Yeah, we still need a few more people, and someone in SD with a garage (or Phoenix or anywhere around )
I've also been seriously considering a new flywheel. I've heard the Fidanza is great and saw a revving video and it was insane, sold me! The worst part is the extra parts; counter weight ($135), bolts ($15), and new clutch (I will probably go OEM cuz I've heard some bad things about ACT clutch driveabitly and the Exeedy is $1450[!!], so that's another $360 for the OEM clutch. Already getting pretty pricey, plus the cost of nitrous! But it is appealing that I would save a boat load of $$ having Charles and few friends install it as apposed to 6 hrs of labor at a shop!

As far as when it is happening, is still up in the air pending on when Charles can fly out and where exactly this is happening, but I think we are shootin for June?
