Anyone willing to help me install shocks and springs in San Luis Obispo?

Hey everyone. I'm gettin ready to order some new suspension components, most likely koni shocks and racing beat springs. I'd like to try to install them myself after new years, but my hands-on experience stops at sway bars. Is there anyone local who's already done a swap and would be willing to help? I'll gladly supply the beer and bbq afterwards

If not, could anyone recommend a good shop in town to do the work?

hey dude I'm in slo too! do you drive that red one with the black rims? I don't have the experience but my neighbor has a friend that has only ever had rotaries, he just bought an FC for 700 bucks in LA and brought it up here, he lives in morro bay but other than that I don't know much about him. He has a lot of experience apparently so he might be able to help.

I'll be getting my 8 sometime this week hopefully.

I'll help you install that stuff, altho I don't have the tools or the know how built in...

I'd do it for just a 24 pack but you live over 3 hours away.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies!

Renesis - That would be a damn good price...that three hour thing is killin me!

daisuke - thanks bro, I got your e-mail. I was actually talkin to one of my co-workers yesterday afternoon about this whole thing and he offered to help...he even has a spring compressor! Good luck with your purchase tho, and hopefully I'll be comfortable enough with the install to help you out if you wanna lower your 8.

I'll be in SLO next week, maybe I'll see your car. I wish I could help but I won't be up there long and I'll be visiting family the whole time.

Hope you get everything installed, maybe I'll see you driving around. I'll be in my black 8

I'm not sure I'd want to lower the 8 more than it already is, I visited some family today and there's a bump in their driveway that I almost scraped in the saturn, course they live in the middle of butt-crack nowhere...

But we should definately cruise up highway 1 at some point and I'll let you in on a little idea I've been entertaining for a while for a meet. I'd also love to see a nordic green up close and personal, I've only ever seen them driving the other way along the highway.

It should definitely be a great fight...and the grad should definitely be packed. Good times all around.

Daisuke - keep me posted on your purchase and any plans for a meet. As far as my color, it really is something you have to see to appreciate; it's completely different in the shade and in the sun. The only gripe I have with it is there's so much flake in the paint that if the car is the least bit dirty it loses its appeal...but every time I wash and wax the car I fall in love with the color all over again

Here ya go Jedi. It's a duplicate from the "calling all nordic greens" thread, but I like it. I do need to get out and take some good ones...my d80's just been collecting dust lately.

Hmmm...it's probably cause I'm at work most of the time. I'd love to be behind the wheel more often, but then I wouldn't be able to make the car payments

I should have mine by saturday, let's do it! (provided I have it, if not you two can do it)

A drive down highway 41 between A-town and morro bay would be sweet.

post a pic JJ?

I'm always down for a 41 barge, and good luck daisuke! My days off work are thursday and friday tho, so this weekend at least won't work for me...

I finally ordered the konis and racing beat springs yesterday. Based on everything I've heard and read about the konis I can't wait to put em in. I know it's gonna be a pita, but I'm looking forward to it anyway

That's awesome daisuke! pics?! I got the konis already but I'm still waiting on the springs; hopefully I'll have them in by next weekend. I'll hit you up when the car's good to go and we can cruise. Maybe Los Osos Valley Road to Turri Rd to Morro bay to 41 then back down 101. I just did that last weekend and couldn't stop grinnin the whole way =)

I drove price cyn rd today, it wasn't even very fun even tho I was hauling ***. The car is way too smooth to have fun on that. I posted a pic in a thread on the discussion page. But here is the link

you guys know where to get 100 octane unleaded race gas? I need to get the pinging in my engine under control before I do any serious driving, but we could do a 41 run thursday or friday if you're down for it.

Pinging? I've never had an issue with 91 around here, though I've only used chevron, shell or 76. What kind of gas is in there now? It's an 05 so it's still obviously under warranty; if you're gettin those sounds with good quality 91 octane I'd swing by Cole and have them take a look at it. You could always try an octane booster available from any auto parts store. I've never used anything like that in any of my cars though, so I can't personally vouch for their performance. Good luck and keep us posted

I've got almost 3/4 of a tank of shell v-power in there now. I might take it in, but I want to see if it goes away if I mix in 100 octane. then come back down to 91 and keep it away. no reason not to have my baby for a whole day or more

no way you should be pinging with Shell 91 octane. Wonder if there's any stored codes.

DAMN, wish I had known about this last weekend, I always carry my Scanalyzer in my car, I could have tried to pull the codes and maybe run some real time diagnostics.

MAYBE you got a bad tank of gas???? Daisuke: did you check the spark plugs? how many miles on the car?
